Heart Attack Grill spokesman Blair River dies at 29 of pneumonia | Mail Online

Has anyone had one of these Heart Attack burgers?? Tell your story..include pics if you have them :D

Also a copy of the story

The massively overweight promoter of the Heart Attack Grill, which serves unashamedly high-calorie burgers and fries, has died at the age of just 29.
Friends say 6ft 8in and 575-pound Blair River passed away from pneumonia after a bout of flu.
The larger-than-life character is famous for promoting the gut-busting restaurant in Arizona with its unhealthy menu of huge hamburgers, milkshakes and fries cooked in lard.
Restaurant founder Jon Basso paid tribute to the gentle giant today, saying there was a lot more to the former state wrestling champion than the caricature he played.
He described River as a creative genius who ideas included a warning on the front door of the restaurant from the Surgeon General, urging: 'Go away, if you come in this place, it's going to kill you'.
The entrees are described as anti-arterial and suggestions for a visit include bringing a defibriliator.
'We all have a very, very brief time on this earth, and the measure of a man is how he leaves the world after he's been here, and I can tell you Blair River was my friend,' Basso said.

It was also River's idea that anyone over 350lbs be allowed to eat for free in the diner in Chandler, Arizona, where some of the offerings come in at a mighty 8,000 calories.

WOW! I'm 29. And at 265lbs. I hate being "skinny" though.

If I'm ever in Chandler, Arizona, I will make it a point to try one of those burgers. You only live once.

I know, I heard a news bite for this and thought dang! the burgers got him, but I searched for the news story and saw it wasn't the burgers, well...still pretty sad, obviously he wasn't in the best of health or the flu shouldn't take you out.

I've been to Chandler, AZ but before this place opened, I think.

He died of a weak heart. It wasn't a heart attack but he was close to one either way.

My thoughts and prayers go to him and his loved ones. From the sounds of it, the short time he did spend with us as a fun time. That's gotta count for something.

What a tragedy. On the bright side, with all that fat he should cook nicely in the crematorium , just they way he would've liked it.

    lol

I know this thread is about the guy. R.I.P. and hopefully wherever you are, you get it eat as much as you want. But I seriously interested in trying a burger from there. Here in Hawaii, Ive eaten a 18oz burger from Teddy's Bigger Burger, and a 16oz burger from the Counter. I've also eaten a 16oz Fatburger in Vegas. I seriously want to try a triple bybass burger. I read that each patty is 8 oz. so I'm pretty sure I' can finish off a double easily. I wanna try a 24 oz. Oh, I'm 140-145 lbs.

I'm inclined to agree. Gluttony of such exteremes should not be celebrated or promoted. He sure as hell could have lived a much longer, less painful life.

I think I saw this restaurant on Food Network or something like that. All the waitresses are dressed up like these really hot nurses, and if you eat a certain size burger, the nurse will wheel you out to your car in a wheelchair.
