sometimes they just kick people off if they don't like the username. It wouldn't let me call myself "D-Unit", so maybe that's it. If not, then I don't know.

Facebook has had issues with people impersonating fictional characters since the very beginning of the site, and does purges from time to time.

I guess fanpages for the characters might be more acceptable?

Does this mean the Optimus Prime username is available again?

Probably never again, since the real life Optimus Prime would always have first dibs on it.

yeah this has been happening to anyone with a username of fictional characters, its why i changed mine to my real name when it was happening to fellow anime cosplayers. I didn't want my real name so folks that i didn't want finding me to add me, but i didn't want to lose my profile

What if you spelt the name slightly differently?

Uptimus Prime or Smegatron or something like that?

Hahah, I've still got a few Yugioh cards added as friends, so here's to them not being sent to the shadow realm.

It's quite ridiculous that you would be kicked off Facebook for impersonating a fictional character, are people so stupid that they would think: "Wow, Optimus Prime added me on Facebook! That's amazing!"

Well actually, I don't use a name, just the custom url so I might be safe there.

Speaking which, you know else scares me? When Facebook asks for my permission to do something. Like, considering what they do behind our backs, I can only imagine what they're trying to do when they actually need consent...
