Wassup everyone? I was looking at Peaugh's and Vangelus' reviews on ROTF Skids just to ask myself whether I really want the figure. I kind of like the overall design except for the head, then an idea struck me: Is it possible to not have his head out in robot mode?

Technically from the transformation I doubt that is possible, but if for example his head were removed and the ball joint chopped off, that'll leave the sort of "metal-silver plate for his head left during the head transformation. In that case, the "head" of the toy would end up being his chest, which very much looks like a head IMO.

Just wondering firstly whether he can have his head NOT out in robot mode, and lastly whether this idea would make his toy look better. Comments please, and thanks :)

wouldn't it be prefereable to make an alternate head, or just swap on a different head. It'd be a bit gobotish to have a headless transformer.

It is a nice looking mold though. Hasbro are doing new headsculpts for some repaints in this line, so it'll be interesting to see if this toy gets one. If they went with a less goofy head, it could really give it a whole new look.

Gonna happen sooner or later! Even if it's just someone's custom.

Personally I think the Mudflap mold would make for a more G1 Skids, though that would probably confuse some people.

And then I think Movie Skids would make a pretty good Movie Animated Bumblebee. Which would add more confusement.

Or they'd could just homage some random minibot.

    like some of these guys:

Hmm.. Not all that bad, but wished the head would've been less goofy. That's all. I think the more I look at it, the more I can accept the head. Haha.

When I see skids and Mudflap, I think of these guys: :lolol

I don't mind the goofy heads at all. I know some people do, but I prefer bots with characteristic heads to ones with insect heads.

Though for some reason the buck teeth actually do bother me.

But it's a fantastic looking mold, and I'll be interested to see how they reuse it.

I absolutely love the twins, in a kicked puppy kind of way.

The just feel so light and fun in that world full of serious-business warmachines.

Well to me the heads for both MudFlap and Skids remind of of Johnny 5 (short circuit)...
Not a big fan of the heads, but I want to wait for the movie to make my final decision.. but these molds will make great kitbashes!!

Hey guys, first off I wanna say thanks for replying to this thread and thanks for the feedback so far. :)  I've posted some pics below. Enjoy!

The heads at first glance are actually hideous. It takes a while to adjust to the heads IMO, then you'll begin to either be okay with it or like it. For me, I'm just okay with it.

So far we've had only Tune Master Mudflap. Are there gonna be any more repaints of the twin's molds? I doubt so..

:lol  I agree. I loved them in the movie, but I wished they could do some serious beating to Devastator.

So far have they been remolded or kitbashed?

Okay guys, I recently fiddled with ROTF Skids and Mudflap (which I bought several months ago) and came up with headless looks. Below are images. IMO they don't look pretty cool, unless you really want a head there. Anyways, hope you enjoy the pics:

If anything I would fix the backpack. I HATE THAT THING. The head is pretty accurate to the movie though...

YES!! That's the main reason the figures have stability issues. :mad

Just an insanely crazy idea here because I'm not exactly right in the head to begin with.

But looking the pictures if you just had the head and shoulder from a human figure in the right scale that you could peg into the slots where the heads used to be at they would look like some insanely cool Japanese mech armor.

I don't have the figures myself but maybe someone can understand the crazy idea to see what it looks like.

As unpleasant as their heads were to look at, they served a purpose in that they distracted me from the large amount of kibble.

These guys are almost worth the 60% off that i paid for them.

    Almost.
