I think someone posted one recently using a CHUG Hotrod head on a WFC Soundwave.

I've had a Springer in WIP stages since June--here's a link to it:

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/419264-springer-wip.html

I'm using a modded Universe Sunstreaker head for Springer. Still have a lot of work to do to it to bulk it up though. Just shooting the idea out there in case you wanted to use the same. As for your Springer, it's coming along great, man! I agree that the "car" mode is a bit strange looking, but seeing as it's a WIP, I think you can pull off something cool with it. I love the way the copter mode looks.

I like this one... it's from the Roadbuster version of Cybertron Defense Hotshot. It's pretty easy, because it's already molded in green...

It's pinned onto the original figure, you kind of have to squeeze it off gradually. Takes a bit of effort, I'll admit. After that:
    - soak it in 90% alcohol overnight, and scrub the paint apps off, leaving only the green
    - snip the "ears" off the sides
    - sand the mechanical detailing off the forehead plate (optional if you like it)
    - sand the back of the head fin to give it a bit more of a curve.
    - face and vent details painted up quick and dirty with markers

I think this head really says "Springer" to me, and it's probably about the right size for Skyhammer. There's a leftover bit of neck, with a pin-hole. Not sure how you'd want to convert that to attach to Skyhammer's ball joint (or instead, replace the ball joint with a rotating pin?).

Cybertron Hotshot's head is a little smaller, and the parts that make me think of Springer are not as prominent. Although both heads will probably work alright, I think the Cybertron Defense Hotshot is a better point to start from.

Unless you've already started, that is. :)

Someone in the Radicons junk exchange might be able to help you out. People trade random parts in there all the time. You might even be able to get a Roadbuster head, and save yourself some painting time. :)
