Mainly the head. Are they the same size? or one is bigger/smaller than the other? Which one is better? Side-by-side pic would be much appreciated.

The head on the RID is smaller than the FE, & uses a lighter shade of blue.

As for the figures, the FE is more show-accurate but cheats with some parts of the transformation; whereas the RID is a bit more expressive to pose & doesn't cheat - but it does have a backpack and less red paint on the chest etc. The FE's weapons blow the RID's out of the water though!

Overall, it's all down to personal preference...

Here's an old pic, if this is any good:

I am always appreciative of RID Prime's thigh swivel. Much better than the FE one

easy summary= FE more CG accurate-ish
PRID = toy-like proportions, i.e. more 'chibified' or SD version? :lol
all in all both fantastic toys, IMHO wither way.

I know ripping on the RiD figures is old, but my god, RiD Prime's gray chest of gray grayness is just terrible. Shame, as the figure itself isn't bad at all, but god, that chest...

there was a mod in the radicons where someone was able to modify the wings of the prid prime to fold. sort of like the fe version. i have to admit, that mod made it look really good. i can't remember but a search on the radicons should yield what i'm talking about.

I remember that custom too, but I'm pretty much in the same boat when it comes to not knowing which one it was or how they did it. I might not even have posted in said thread, so narrowing the search by the "Prime" topics I've replied to may or may not even help hah.

Thanks everyone. I already have the FE version. I just want to see if I can take parts from the RID version and make mine even better.

Ohhh are those thighs interchangeable? Awesome. Have you tried that yet Tcracker?

Also, I recall reading about a fix for the FE Prime head. It's not attached right initially out of the box or something. I don't have one so I wouldn't know for sure :)

I do. The ball isn't actually in the socket. I unscrewed it, popped the ball on, the closed it up. It now has a lot more movement.

How exactly? I prefer the FE swivel because you can't see the line in the middle of the thigh.

Why do people say RiD doesnt cheat? Just look at the side of the windscreen in vehicle mode (and Prime's shoulders).

Tried it, FE Prime not not using a ball joint for the thigh. So swapping will be difficult and you might need to do some cutting.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Cutting is okay. So it is doable.

The only way I'd ever take a knife to my FE Prime is if I was falsely fed that there'd be a femmebot underneath.

If you are going this route, might I suggest this:-
    1) take apart the hips for FE Prime
    2) Remove the vertical swivel joint for the thigh
    3) there will be a noticable gap once the swivel is removed. If you have any junker gundam parts (prefereably 1/100 scale), you can use the ball jointed hip joint (that attaches to the legs of the gundam thigh socket) and cut it to fit

    OR

    4) You can cannibalize the PRID Prime and cut out the hip ball joint and try to fit it into the FE.

You might want to swap the legs also since the aesthetics between the 2 figures are different.

Hope my explanation makes some sense in any way.

The latter sounds better. Is the RID leg longer?

Unfortunately slightly shorter. If you going to keep anything after the knees, better try to work in the FE legs. With that you have another challenge -

    1) the wind vane that acts as the heel spur for FE Prime. You can try chopping it off, but by doing so you have a send problem -

    2) How are you going to store the feet in alt mode....
