I don't really understand what's going on here but it's brilliant.
My TF cannon, the robots are not entirely sentient. Their programming really is to mimic other beings and cultures around them and pick up their traits. They're never ending war is just part of some old programming. There is little meaning or reflection in their artificial intelligence. They of course don't realize the extent of their true lack of autonomy.
Another TF canon theory on my part is the war is not ultimately about good or evil, chaos or order, or even resources. The seed of the war is the dichotomy of creating independent life and absorbing life to become a greater life. Diversity and sub-division versus absorption and combining. Of course no one side represents either side if this binary completely. The struggle is core to all of their programs.
I agree 100%
Never understood why it's so hard for people to tell the difference between canon and cannon :/
There’s already a thread for this in General...
What is your Transformers head canon? (G1-TFA & RB)
My Transformers head canon (pretty vaguely) involves a super multiverse with a place for everybody. To make things easier, the toys are different (though often similar) characters from the ones in the movies, cartoon, comics, etc.
This particular approach has helped me avoid decades of stress and headaches that sometimes seem to plague other TF fans.
Well, some of the stress and headaches, anyway. I hate stickers.
Hammer... hammer... hammer... energon axe... hammer... That Thing From That One Episode... Roller... hammer...
God damn it, where is that pencil???
I hate stickers too, so no reprolabels on 99% of my figures and no bot/con stickers on any of my 3rd party, matter of fact the few that i've gotten 2nd hand, i removed the stickers symbols, i hate stickers
I prefer the term "kidult."
I agree that repaints are annoying.
While redesigns/callbacks of beloved characters has bugged me in the past (I resented Hasbro for making G2 Laser OP in the '90s -- until I got one), I've resigned myself to the situation. After all, this kind of thing happens all the time in movies, TV, and other comics. Minor costume changes, new art direction, new actors are always popping up.
I just see this as a way to lengthen the life of a brand/story I love. When a new design comes out, there's an opportunity to refine a character, and (occasionally) improve it (see 2017 Wonder Woman). I mean, from a certain perspective, all of the IDW designs are refinements of earlier designs.
I was hoping this would be a thread asking for a 3P version of this guy.
Headcannon - Transformers Wiki
+1 We could sure use an updated version of the lost Dorvack sibling. We've got a few good Roadbuster options, and at least one or two OK Whirls out there, but Bonaparte "HeadCannon" Tulcas is doomed to never get love.
Also, Bonaparte "HeadCannon" Tulcas should totally be a GIJoe codename. Maybe HeadCannon's semi-conscious corpse was raided by Joe R&D to create the BattleForce 2000 equipment.
How's THAT for HeadCannon head canon.
Locking this since this is mostly spam and because of the above link in TF General. If someone wants to start a headcanon thread strictly for 3rd party characters feel free to do so.
