He-Man Movie Finds A Home? | IshTalkers
I wish they would do the treatment that got released a coupld years ago, the description of that movie sounded awesome.
I agree. The project seemed to die when they got away from that.
If done right, it can be a very lucrative property, I think.
I didn't think the 1987 movie was a "debacle"
to me Dolph was never believable as He-man and it was nothing even close to the series so the 87 movie was a craptacular
With an opening weekend of less than $5 million and a domestic gross of only $17 million. The movie lasted only about 5 weeks at the box office before being completely pulled. I'd say that's a debacle.
Certainly a financial debacle, but its an all time classic of entertainingly bad cinema.
Gotta love Frank Langella's badass Skeletor and that the whole thing blatantly cribs from New Gods.
Why...would it draw in fans of "300"?
Aside from having reams of half-naked, muscly guys the properties have nothing at all in common.
Not a thing.
Swords and sandals, muscular men battling it out, gladiator like armies clashing with each other in grand landscapes, grotesque and deformed monstrosities fighting for the forces of evil. Not to mention the prior (now abandoned) script had been compared to films like 300.
Feel free to stop me when I start to get off base...
I mean, did you guys not see Teela?
Well, whenever this move comes out, let's hope Mattel doesn't totally screw up the toyline...again.
