http://www.aintitcool.com/node/32710 Thanks to the transformers film he-man, and voltron films are still in the works.
One "bad" He-Man movie was bad enough: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093507/ Now, Voltron, I hate to say could end up like a Power Rangers movie.
QFT. Seeing Skeletor pop up after the credits is still one of the coolest theater moments of my life.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093507/awards What are you people saying...that was an award-winning movie!! I never knew about Skeletor at the end....what happens?
Yawn. No one cares about He-Man. His latest revival was crap, a second revival would just destroy the intelligence of kids (collectors usually just pick it up for 1) the novelty and 2) hopes it'll be worth something since they missed out on leaving everything sealed in their youth).
by definition, TFTM the original was considered bad too, considering it made gi joe the movie went straight to dvd. didnt stop em there.
actually, no. the revival was awsum with great design and detailing, it was trong enough that, even after getting the action figure line killed, the line now continues as collectable statues. the reason the revival got killed was not because lack of awsumness, but poor distribution by mattel. you know, the same guys that made hal jordan and unavailable exclusive.
If I remember correctly to 2002, Transformers Armada beat out He-Man in the ratings war every single week (even though Armada haters claimed those ratings had to be a lie, and in fact, ignored them constantly). And the main characters of He-Man were He-Man (SHOCK!) and Skeletor (SHOCK!), so of course Mattel is going to push those two figures more than the "random appearance" figures that show up for one, maybe two episodes. The figures were completely crap (no articulation, good sculps yes but absolutely crap in every sense of the word). Even after the distribution was fixed towards the end, the non-He-Man/Skeletor figures still sat on the shelves. He-Man was a promising start, but a good slap to the face that not everything born in the 80's can handle a revival. He-Man is nothing more than nostalgia that seemed to have a higher collector base than an actual children base that fell apart when collectors and children gave up on toys they couldn't find. I mean, Gray Skull castle was readily available, yet retailers couldn't even clearance it out. You can't seriously say that He-Man died because people couldn't find Ram Man or variant Trap Jaw, can you?
Eh. I don't really care about He-Man either way (except that I love some of the puns in their names). However, if this gets made, I may go see it for S&Gs. I remember liking the first movie, but I was probably 10 when I saw it.
They're crap because I am all knowing. And I absolutely hate it when people think He-Man's revival was "good" ... because good things don't fall flat on their face and cause the eventual world-wide cancellation of an entire franchise. Again. For the 3rd, 4th time? Oh yes, sorry, the statues. That's like saying the Kansas City Royals are a good baseball team. They have one of the worst records in baseball and, besides a fluke year two years ago, they've sucked for a greater part of the last two decades. (But they still sell t-shirts and caps!) Good sports teams don't finish last. Good franchises don't go in to cancellation time and time again. He-Man sucked, and fortunately for my argument, every single avenue of He-Man's revival, with the exception of the VERY BEGINNING of the relaunch, proves my point.
