    Hey guys, need some advice.

My family is FINALLY getting a beautiful new 52" Aquos and we're going to wall mount it.

NOW, what I need is some information. is there an ideal height we should aim for? is there a scientific method or does it just boil down to two of us holding the TV at various heights and a third person saying "yeah, that looks good!"

Pretty much. It is an LCD, right? If so, you should be cool just making sure your viewing angles are spot on.

get 2 of your buddies over and have them hold it against the wall. then you and your family can find the perfect angle for your preference. Thats the best advice for ya!

Well there are dimension you can look up for an estimate. I would just in the surrounding funiture and decide how far up you want to look. That is all I did and it worked out fine. I have a 52" as well I think it is like 5'-6" off the floor. It all really depend on the size of the room.

I think if you google your query there's lots of recommendations, like screen size/optimal seating distance, that kind of thing.

There is no universal hanging height. It's all dependent on your average viewing height, which is based off of the individual's size and room's sitting furniture.

AKA, get a big cardboard cutout, try to see what's good, and apply.

Also, make sure to take note of any possible glare. Set the TV up (not hanging) and just see if there are any windows / fixtures that distract from the screen.
