Have you started saving your $$$£££ for ROTF Yet?? :2c:

Well its 6 months to go and with the economy as it is I am a little uncertain whether I will have enough money to buy the collection. :cry  I guess some of you guys will be in the same boat.

With TFTM, I only collected the core movie toys and dodged the repaints in 07/08. I picked up a couple of premiums namely Deep Space SS, Prem IH, Prem BO in the sale at the end of this year and of course Thundercracker for £5 from Argos. Overall, I probably spent £200-£300 on the movie toys if that.

I have spent a fair whack on non movie TFs for the last 2 years and in the UK that racks up very quickly. Especially as waiting for the sales only usually grabs you the later waves or mega duplicates / re paints so its never a great option.

Ok TRU may do 3 for 2 etc but that still £80-100 for a couple of the Leader / Supreme sizes. :thumbdown

I have been to town a bit with the new Universe / Classics and Animated in the last few months and got most of the releases over here which having done the maths this week has put me in a ££££ spend on TFs in 08. As we are short on space at home atm, I have 10 large packing boxes full of MISB and another 15 full of loose or MIBs. TFs to unbox once we finally move.

At the moment I am a bit light on the G1 era which is another area I feel the urge to spend on. Got a feeling I will be buying a load of the encores in the New Year to catch up, a series I have not bothered with bar Omega Supreme.

    :duel

The real dilemma is there is Encore, Universe and Animated which are all brilliant lines and then ROTF which will bring devastator, quite probably a £60 - £80 over here and I will want at least 2, and then the rest.

Trying to collect everything is financially painful.

So guys what do you reckon the ROTF movie line will cost? I am budgeting £300-£500 this time round as there is likely to be a lot more characters which is £100 per month from now going into my TF ££ pot.

Since conversion on toys is usually 1$ to £1, i.e. if your voyager costs $20 it will cost £20 feel free to post your estimates in $.

HECK NO, I still have the rest of Classics 2.0 to buy and Animated. Also MP grimlock. So no. You know as well as I do that the movie toys will hog shelves for another 2 years until TF 3. I am in no rush to run out and buy them this time around. There will be a million versions, are most likely Premium versions like last time.

Nah not yet, I'll be grateful for Universe going away for a while next year though. More money for movie stuff.

I'll be happy for the movie toys to start up, because then I can take a break from buying Transformers. My other collections have been sadly neglected.

The Premiums are why I'm going to wait until the end of this year or next year and see if Hasbro makes these figures, and then I'll get those and pick up whatever figures are left that don't get Premium releases (like Bonecrusher, Scorponok and Brawl from the first film). I'll be damned if I buy them all and then more Premium toys come out. I feel bad for anyone who bought the first toys and then saw the Premium versions come out and wanted those instead. I would've been pissed.

i have not seen one impressive ROTF figure ... then Encore isn't my cup of tea... as well not every Universe I 'd buy especially those repaints of previous series from year(s) ago I have skipped most.

I think the Universe is the line I 'd keep buying most... Animated series depends... but it is not too bad to afford the deluxes if WM still sticks with the discounted price...

    Saving for ROTF? Yes!!!

Man, if the line wasn't looming, I'd be splurging right now. Instead, I'm buying select Animated, skipping Universe 2.0, and might get one or two from 25th Anniv.

The movie line was big the first time around, this time it'll be bigger.

My wallet is taking a rest next year for the most part. I'll pick up 2 or 3 mostly likely, but that's it.
