even though its a POS?
Edit: what figure was it?
Yep. Its called every figure the marvel select line has ever released
Thankfully I've only bought a Deadpool from that series though. The're all pretty much garbage
actually.... a lot
I'm a sucker for good looks as well.
I bought the Tailwhip/Arcee set from Target purely to display Tailwhip with Barricade and Smolder as "Protecticons." While I love their weird robot modes (especially Tailwhip's, er, "hands") and realistic(ish) alt modes, transforming the pair was... challenging, to say the least.
Interestingly enough, Arcee goes nicely with Legends Wheelie. I daresay in-scale.
Yep, Energon Downshift.
I would say how it displays is one of the primary factors as to why I buy a figure. I don't really play with the toys, so the first question I ask is "How does this fit into my collection". I have passed on Terradive and Tomahawk for this reason (bought Mindwipe and his troll even though I couldn't figure this out and am now selling them). I have also purchased figures (or multiples) for this reason. Purchased Blazing Fallen and the Target DSSS from the first movie to leave MISB as anchors on a movie shelf cause I liked how they displayed, same with the Allspark Tubeformers. Finally got the towtruck from the first movie to have hooked up with Bumblebee in the display, and gotten multiples of the last few US MP releases (still need to get a MISB Walmart Starscream) to display with the other MPs. I would say the movie toys I mentioned were the POS figures I bought soley for display purposes.
most of my Gundams.
Star Wars vehicles
and the odds and end figures i buy are just for display.
like i have a Mechwarrior Timber Wolf that stands 7-8" tall, my Exo-Squad vehicles (when they sold Robotech vehicles) and so on.
G1 Hot Rod. I found one in GREAT condition on the cheap. It's G1 so it draws the eye, even though I'm not a G1 collector.
I also got all of the Validus wave from DCUC 'cuz I thought he looked great, and he's a rather obscure character so people always ask me where he's from.
most of the movie toys. especially the off-screen characters like TFTM salvage, Dropkick, etc.
Yamato VF-1A Valkyrie (1/48). I love the way it looks, but it too fiddly and delicate for my tastes......just not very fun to play with (I'm always afraid of breaking it). My first and last Macross figure.
My Deluxe Zeo Megazord and my Hurricane Command Megazord.
Too many to list, unfortunately.
I don't ddisplay my TFs, so none! That's why I am not very keen on MPs and Leader class figures. I prefer something smaller that I can handle easily.
On the other hand, I have quite a few Star Wars figures and statues I bought just to line up on the display. Funny those cost more sometimes, eh.
Id have to say all my RTS Transformers..... However not Cyclonus he doesnt pose well even though he came with Nightstick.... booo hiss
However Super Link/Energon Omega Supreme poses well I have the loveable oaf walking forward... and it looks damn good his hook arm behind his LAZOR fingers aimed at the enemy...
It doesn't turn into anything.
The feet snap shut soon as you pick it up.
And it's out of scale.
buying repaints come to mind, I bought all the MP, Classic and Encore seekers because they display well together. But there is definitely a decreasing marginal increase in "fun" with every additional figure.
When I got my first Universe and MP SS, I couldn't put them down. Where as the later ones have only been transformed once from plane to bot and has been sitting in display since the day I bought them.
Now that you mention it...... MP Seekers as well.
No, I only get modern figures because of something I might like about them. As a kid with Beast Wars it was mainly because I wanted them.
So I've never got something to just place on something and display it. Even with the MP line I dont do it. I only got Skywarp because I liked the jet mode and it was on discount.
