Basically what the title says. I'm thinking of making a model of him from LEGO parts, but I can;t find anything that shows his alt mode in the MTMTME comics, and his robot models doesn't really look like it splits into a tank and a jet (though his arm-thrusters suggest at least just a jet). Has there ever been any confirmation what he turns into?

 

Yes, his alt. modes show up in Wreckers.
(his upper body's a jet and his lower is a tank just btw)

 

He transforms in Last Stand of the Wreckers and he appears in altmode in one of the flashbacks in 14 I think

 

Yep, Last Stand of the wreckers. Splits in half to become a jet and a tank.

And I'll have to look again, but I'm pretty sure in the scene where he goes to meet with holo-Megatron Overlord has some Omega Supreme weirdness going on. He transforms, splits in half, his bottom half/tank landing on a random Autobot, while his Jet flies to the comms out post. The Jet transforms, and his lower body magically reappears even though the tank shouldn't have been able to follow. Nitpicking, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Also worth mentioning is that Overlord was orginally a city bot, having a large base mode. We're not likely to see this in IDW, given that like Fort Max and Scorponok he's been demoted to just a large regular guy. I'm starting to think that's by Hasbro decree; Only Metroplex and Trypticon get to be city bots these days.

 

Actually, we see him split and then when he's at the outpost he's back in robot mode. So I guess he had a bit to transform back.

 

Look at the page before the meeting, as he's flying in towards the communications hut, you can see the tank attached to the bottom of the jet.

 

The jet tank is a conceit from the Japanese Cartoons like Wing Wolf and Dark Zarak's Hydra Mode.

 

He was, but he's also kind of a Powermaster Duocon. Seriously, if the fact that he was a Duocon got more play, suddenly, being one wouldn't seem like such a joke.

damn he looks glorious. he steals the show almost every panel he's ever in.

 

One can hope that Hasbro plans on making a Leader Class of Overlord down the line.

...additionally, the fact that we're (3?) years out from Wreckers and there's no toy of this design is a fucking tragedy.

 

No Leader size toy, pls. He's only a little bigger than Megatron. Ultra size toy, at most.
