I know Wheeljack is coming back, and Dreadwing is coming. Those are the only ones I know of.

 

^That is literally all we know about new/returning characters. They did tell us at BotCon that the size of the Bot cast is going to double though.

 

Which, of we had eight models (one of which may be re-used) and one redeco, gives us nine new autobots. Eight models:
Prime
'Bee
Bulk
Ratchet
Arcee
Wheeljack
Cliffjumper
Generic
Tailgate

 

They're not getting a lot; perhaps 2-3 more transformers (Wheeljack & Dreadwing).

Hot damn. Well, we already know about Dreadwing's introduction, and Wheeljack's return. As for NEW characters, they did mention "new technology" in terms of the robots. Headmasters? Targetmasters? Combiners?

Dinobots (?)

I believe Constructicons were mentioned as well, so take that as you will. Don't hold me to that though.

 

I'd love to see different Transformers: Homeworlds like Velocitron maybe Override, Ransack and Crumplezone will show up.

Hell they also bring in Hot Shot as Bee's bro or cousin living on Velocitron.

 

It has already been confirmed that David Kaye and James Remar are working on the show. They're probably going to voice bots as well.

 

Wasn't Grimlock apparently rumored? Maybe I'm just remembering it wrong.

 

Think that was a wish list..and of course, FOC...which could, in turn, wind up in the plot for TFP. Nothing confirmed that I've seen or heard here anyway.  

Would love for the other TF worlds--from Exodus/Exiles-- to be discussed or visited in TFP!!

 

I heard a rumor about a leaked toy listing from takara listing a character in the prime line who is currently known as Dead End. Is Dead End gonna make his first animated appearance since G1?!

On the topic:

We're getting double the robots. In S1 we got about 15 different full character models, so if that's anything to go by, we'll bet a buttload of new characters. We know ONE, and that's Dreadwing, who is pretty obviously going to be a sentient Vehicon (How do I know this? The writers don't name the characters that are introduced. They write the backstory and basic personality and send it to Hasbro who determine a character who fits that archetype from the mythos. The only really significant/interesting/unique role a "Dreadwing" character has had is a drone from the movie comics. Thus- a Vehicon with sentience. I am a genius.)

The rest, I have no idea on. We know combiners, and we know several robots that don't turn into vehicles. Combiners would probably be Combaticons, given the fact that Screamer needs some backup, though given the presence of Breakdown they could introduce the Stunticons. For the one's that don't turn into vehicles, I'm guessing Dinobots (the writers said they were "part of the plan, and they already have a starring role in FoC), the Insecticons (Airachnid shares their Color Scheme and I can see her making a bid for power), or Sky Lynx.

Why Sky Lynx? Because I fucking love Sky Linx.

We also just recently got a list of new toys coming in (Rumble, Flamewar, Ultra Magnus, Fallback, Dead End) so I wouldn't at all be surprised to see several of those appear.

Other than that we have no idea.  

 

That idea about Dreadwing being a sentient Vehicon makes a lot of sense giving the mysterious robot that's been appearing in the promos.

The Dead End confirmation makes me think they might be trying for Menasor so that could be the combiner.

Ehhh... I dunno. In what previous continuity was Breakdown a large, muscle-bound 'Con with possible thoughts about changing sides? Wheeljack a badass swordsman and Wrecker? You shouldn't count your chickens too early, and assume that just because the TF: Prime staff goes to Hasbro for names, the characters will align EXACTLY. Knockout wasn't a vain, slick medic in any previous continuity either, after all. Also, I think it's pretty safe to say that Vehicons are already sentient.
