I think I want to pick up the Amazing Spider-Man one. Sounds pretty cool having every single issue since the series started on DVD-rom, over 500 issues. I see they are also available for Iron-Man, Thor and other titles. Anyone bought this one or any of the others? Pros? Cons? Also anyone know where there is a good deal on them?

I heard Marvel has stopped renewing the license for the company that makes these. So I'm gonna get it while it's still reasonably priced. The Spider-Man one has enough good reviews on Amazon.

I've got several. Very nice. The only issue was that since they are scanned 2 pages at a time (open a comic, both pages are on the same image) that you have mess with the zoom to be able to read the text and not have to go side to side.

I got the Ultimate X-Men disc. It's just wonderful to have that many issues at hand. Admittedly it's not as portable as a TPB, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

I've enjoyed the Spiderman cdrom tremendously. The only problem is that once the stories start crossing over into the other Spiderman books you lose half the story.

And since Marvel opened up their online service, I think they've taken away the liscence from the cd publisher. That means the prices are going to sky rocket more than likely.

i was so thinking of getting the Hulk, Ghost Rider, X-Men, and maybe the Spider-Man one too.

yeah, its real nice that it's all there, but for multi-title arcs, it'll suck as you wont get the other titles too.

They are in PDF format. I am able to zoom in pretty close and it looks good. As far as saving the pictures, they are in PDF so if you have a way to save that as a picture, you can use it. You can always screen capture to save the picture.

I want this so bad $50 versus like $100s of dollars for all the TPB. There is something weird to me about reading them on the computer though, doesn't feel right.

well I received my copy of the 11 cds of amazing spiderman, and I was disappointed. The scans on the comics suck honestly, not the ones from 1960-1970. I mean like the ones from the 1980s and on, people who scan comics do a better job.

You must have bootlegs. The DVD-Rom the thread is about are official products where they are all on 1 DVD. Quality is pretty good on them.

What you got is version 1, where they used a lot of discs and people complained. The quality is not as good as the newer DVD-roms that are all on one DVD-ROM disc. The single-disc DVD-rom uses clear pdf files, I believe the multi-disc set used a different format that wasn't as user-friendly. The quality is spectacular on mine and you can zoom to huge sizes if you want. Also you might want to turn the resolution on your monitor up to 1280 by 1024 and see if that helps.

If you order from Amazon, they stock the newer 1 disc dvd-roms.

I get all of my comics electronically. cbr reader is a great program for viewing them on your computer.
