Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the new Target and Walmart 2-packs, with the ROTF repaints, look like something you would find from a KO company under the name ChangeFormVerters? The Bumblebee with the lightning bolts takes the cake. The bright yellow and bright blue scream total knock off. I'm still a sucker and bought them, mostly because they're so outrageous, how can I not own them?

Anyone else think they look like those crazy KOs?

    This was my thoughts exactly.

Also, there are only so many different ways that Bumblebee can be painted and still look like "Bumblebee" enough to market to the kids who recognize a toy as that character.

Also, bright colors attract customers. Neon signs aren't neon for nothing.

too bad that half the robots in the packs are floppy messes...

the bumblebee and the coptor bot (tailwhip) both are floppy and loose as Ko's too....freaking sad that you spend $20 per box...$40 plus tax and get 2 decent tf's and 2 tfs that suck ass...

Yep, same here... They've really been on a G2 kick lately, so it's not surprising to me.

I saw the 'Bee last weekend at a meet. I honestly thought it was a KO until someone pointed out that it wasn't. The colours were tacky, and the sole part of the arms that was painted was the cannon on one arm.

Apparently there was a change of redeco artists, and the new one did these sets.

Though I must admit that I do like the Sideswipe.

Same. It's kind of dissapointing that the first Barricade I get is a clown car.

When that BB was posted on Kotoys i honestly thought it was a Ko. Garish isn't the word.

    That said...

Wal-Mart and Target just want 'new' products. The way retailers squeeze Hasbro by refusing to pay more than price x, they're not going to resist the chance to get extra revenue out of a pre-existing mold.

Considering most of the molds were shelf-warmers 6 months ago, they're probably not aimed as the discerning/hardcore collector.

These will probably go on clearance soon, bought by people who like TFs, but don't know much about them, or for kitbash fodder. There's also the 'I know my son/nephew/grandson likes TFs, but that's all i know about them, these will do' category.

K.O's, G2. Bah!!!!! I know for a fact Hasbro is selling this to the KO G2 Market folks.

The closest thing i would want from these packs is the BB and Thrust pack.....But even then I don't want to be stuck with the Ugly as crap BB.

Cyclonus, Galvatron and Rodimus from the 3-pack look like KOs. The coloring is just off. It's sad that they scrapped the clear windows on Rodimus, they were half the appeal imo.

No. I think they alright but not all of them are my cup of tea. I really want that Sideswipe, the Arcee looks nice, and MAYBE Tail Whip. The rest are just meh.

This must be the worst definition of knock-off that I've read on this site yet. And it's been getting pretty ridiculous. :D

    Hasbro making their own knockoffs?
That's actually bloody brilliant. From a marketing perspective. Become your own competition!

Count me among those more reminded of G2 than KOs. They're just stretching as much use as they can out of the molds to fill the shelves.
