I apologize if this has been said, discussed, whatever. I just have to get this out. It seems within the past years, Hasbro has really been fucking up with arm pegs. Let's go down the list. Forgive me if I am leaving any out, I have a rather short term memory. I am just going to put these in the terms of "molds", since there were re colors of each. 1. Classics Grimlock 2. Deluxe Brawl 3. Deluxe Dropkick 4. Universe Powerglide 5. Animated Sentinel Prime 6. Animated Ultra Magnus 7. Crossovers Venom 8. Universe Galvatron 9. ROTF Legends Optimus Prime And the list goes on and on. All of these had at least 1 recolor. Now tonight, I purchase Universe Cheetor. Guess what? Same fucking problem. Has Hasbro seriously not noticed this is an issue? I am just wondering as to if anyone else has had this problem with Cheetor, or if I just have the worst luck in the world.
Transformers and shoulder joints seem to be perpetually an issue. Animated Ultra Magnus Animated Sentinel Prime Crossovers Venom Classics Galvatron etc. The nature of the transformation either results in pegs holding in the shoulders that slip, or the shoulder joint itself being compromised in articulation or location to accomodate the transformation scheme.
What about G1 Prime? Ok, just kidding. I have to agree that the shoulder joints are an issue. My legends ROTF Optimus suffers the same issues, as well as numerous universe and animated. Part of the issue is they don't make them too tight so they will pop off easily if too much force is applied, to keep them from breaking. While I think this covers a lot of the issues, there are still many QC issues that cause this problem. Maybe it has to do with the complexity of the transformations, or maybe it is just an ongoing problem.
Yeah... I typed this at 7 in the morning so I knew I would forget some. By my question about Cheetor still remains.
The only ones on your list I have issues with are Cheetor, Brawl and Powerglide. Grimlock's isn't super tight but it doesn't flop around either. I didn't know there were so many problems with the others.
What is wrong with Ani Ultra Magnus? He doesn't have any arm pegs... Also, I believe the Storm Cloud repaint of the Powerglide Classics mold is fixed regarding the arm pegs.
I haven't handled any of these in person. Can you maybe clarify to a curious person what exactly the problem is? Do the shoulders just not have anywhere to stay in place for robot mode?
I've owned three sepperate Classic Grimlock molds, and none of them have been floppy... That said, a coat of clear nail polish on the peg will generally help with the problem. Tightens the connection so they post less a problem. At least thats been my experience. I've honestly not seen any sign of the poor quality control that people always seem to rant about from hasbro.
Only one of that list that i've had issues with is deluxe brawl. The only thing against grimlock is they don't line up but it stays put.
