Just saw this on a Japanese TF forum so not sure if anyone posted it yet but there seems to be subtle differences between Hasbro and TakaraTomy version of Human Alliance Jazz (Left = Hasbro / Right = TakaraTomy) : Source : Wait... Now I'm not sure which version to get...sigh
Though I do like the import deco better (mainly the hands). I don't like it that much better, and in all honesty, the redeco figure really comes under "who cares" for me. I think the figures are pretty useless personally.
if i have to choose, i'll get the hasbro version coz i like the blue windscreen and blue visor better. but i'll get both IF i see them.
The only thing I don't like about the Takara version is the brown visor. Everything else is slightly better IMO. However...because he will be displayed in robot mode by me pretty much all the time I'm going to have to go with Hasbro, as the other differences don't bother me enough to put up with the brown eye piece.
I like the black hands on the Japanese version, but I like the blue windows and visor on the Hasbro release.
Only thing I like better on the TakaraTomy figure is the windows on the arms. Everything else looks better on the Hasbro version, especially the windows in vehicle mode and the visor.
I don't know what to think. I actually like the blue windows because I like energetic colors like that. But the hands look silly and it's missing a little black near the headlights(for what that's worth). This is the first Alliance class toy I've considered since Bumblebee.
Im pretty new to collecting, but why are there some changes to characters? I mean its almost laziness....
Because one of them looks worse? For example. on this Jazz, the Takara version has darker colors around the headlight area, where the Hasbro one doesnt change the color at all. Things like that, why would they do that on purpose?
i would go for a frankenstein version: black hands, blue visor, clear windshield, and green jumpsuit.
