We have received this information from online retailer Toyz and Gamez:

The bad news is that unfortunately the much anticipated "Universe" is not included on this list. All that means, though, is that Hasbro UK are currently not offering it for 2008. It is not proof by any means that it is not coming to the UK period.

There is one bit of bad news, though:

To explain the term "FOB" (I only learned about the concept a few months ago): In addition to the regular mass retail toys, Hasbro allow large wholesalers to order additional toys directly from the manufacturer in China. That means the financial risk is entirely in the hands of the stores, as the toys never pass through Hasbro's warehouses in the first place. This is how Alternators are distributed throughout Europe, for example. Cybertron Ultras and Supreme Starscream would be another example of FOBs. Sometimes they can even come in US packaging, but they need safety warning stickers in the target country's language as far as I know.

    Animated Battle Pack w/DVD?

    Whats that?

I'm glad to see we are getting the Allspark battle legends, mini-bonecrusher yay!

But what about the 'Power of the Allspark' mini-line whatever, with Desert Camo Brawl, Landmine, Stockade and so on. Will we get that?

If you get them, they will be part of the Movie Deluxe/Voyager/Leader assortments. Hence this list won't tell you.
(besides, you already do have Nightwatch Prime)

I'd imagine that's the reported Voyager + Deluxe 2-pack (suspected to be Cybertronian Megs & OP) that will be the initial entry in the Animated line.

Meanwhile, anybody know what this is?
I thought at first it was the UK name for TECH toys, but they're in the list, too.

    Also:
Asst? Could this mean there'll be another one? Perhaps Megs? Or maybe the G1 Prime shown on the Hasbro tour will make it to production, after all.

Classics 2.0 isn't due in America until at least the 3rd quarter of 08 so it's not entirely bad news that Hasbro Uk don't have it on their books just yet.

That change in acquisition strategy however is bad news, hopefully shops won't just push the prices of deluxes up by a couple of quid to compensate.

Either two opposing deluxes and a cheap promotional dvd as they've done before now withe classics Prime + Megs.
Or it's the preview figure pack that has been rumoured for the US market in which case the dvd inclusion could be news for everyone or just a UK bonus.

Choose which one you like. ;)

The preview 2-pack isn't a rumor. During the Hasbro panel at BotCon, the TF team told us it would hit in January, followed by full line release around March.

But, yeah, I don't think a DVD has been previously mentioned.

I know preview figures were mentioned but I did not know for a fact that it would be a two pack so I was still considering that much at least to be rumour. ;)

Then allow me to explain. :)

Hasbro said at Botcon that there would be another set of preview figures like the ones they did for the movie. There was also a listing somewhere (I forget where) with an American retailer for a deluxe & Voyager pack.
Putting two and two together, the belief is that this pack is the promised preview figures and that the most likely candidates are thought to be Cybertron Prime (deluxe) and Cybertron Megatron (Voyager). Since they are the only Cyb mode toys we've seen and pre earth modes would fit in with the idea of preview figures as the pilot episode focuses on them coming to Earth.

    Preview figures?
Why does that phrase fill me with fear unmatched by any ever felt before.

Still, If it is a Cybertronian Megatron and Prime 2-pack, I'll be buying. Both those figures look kickass.

Hopefully the movie figures were just an experiment, evidently the idea worked and they want to try it again, only this time with better figures. ;)

Bah. Only stuff I'm REALLY looking forward to for 08 is Classics 2.0... so I guess I'll be importing them hehe.

Probably end up getting stuff from the movie line too ;)

It did? I got the impression it didnt. These things are just warming shelves everywhere. My nearest Argos is still getting solid cases of Protoforms. What the hell?

Looking at TRU, both of the ones within driving distance of me are chock full of unsold protoforms, with one or two Swindles and the very rare (in my area) Bonecrusher.

I predict the protoforms will be the next Cybertron Unicron and Skywarp.

I'm 99.9% sure that the Hasbro team specifically said it'd be 1 Voyager and 1 Deluxe in a 2-pack. Anybody else remember it?
