I was going to close this thread because the HTS sale has been covered in other threads, but it's just gotten SO entertaining.

    Let's play guess #'s game.

China worker makes $300 to 500 a month depending on negotiated wage with factory(source...msnbc.com article a few months ago about factory workers in china--a few listed below).

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35896475/ns/business-us_business/

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37624923

    So $500 a month...about $125 a week

without knowing the hours per week or amount of transformers an hour produced..

let's say 40 hour work weeks....right....125 divided by 40...$3.125 an hour....
let's go with the 20 deluxe an hour figure....3.125 divided by 20..... .15625 per unit...

let's throw in $.50 cents for packaging and boxing... .65625 cents per unit

Yeah i would say they are not losing much if any money in down cutting the price

obviously this does not factor in other costs( factory electricity. worker benefits, etc)

but we can argue those costs are borne by the factory...transportation costs are hasbro's to bear....so lets factor say $1 per unit for boxing, shipping to port, shipping from chinese port to america via surface boat)....still $1.65 ish per unit....

This sounds all great and all but China workers make around 0.50 an hour + they work 60+ hours a week. ;)

unless you own a chinese factory...you have no idea how many hours they work...the post if you bothered to read stated that hours of worked unknown and how many units per hour produced....

you are awesome...someone tries to backup statistically what you are saying and you want to lash out at them,

You work for a Chinese factory owner, you produce products which are sold at roughly 1200% profit AND you can get paid millions for playing basketball? I'm truly proud that I live in the same city as you.

Almost $12 for Lugz shipping included to Utah. I was always on the fence, but I don't think I'm sold.

Really sad how the total for the "One Dollar" Odd Ball is. Almost $7! I can go to Wally and get one for $7.41 if I wanted...

Everyone in the chain makes approximately 50-60%. So Hasbro makes that much, then the retailer does the same. So the assumption is:

    Hasbro cost=$2.50
    Retailer cost=$5.00
    Customer cost=$10.00

    Again, approximately,

This probably isn't the best sale for people wanting one or two figures, but for people who missed out on a lot of these figures when they were new (like myself) the chance to get them all at $1 - $4 a piece was a steal. When you factor in the free shipping when your order gets to $50, it works out quite nicely.
