It's been posted so many times that I dare say this HTS sale is awfully promiscuous.

I'll bet when EG Bumblebee showed up for $1, several kitbashers went "Welp, looks like the right time for customs of EVERYONE using that body type in the Allspark Almanac!" :)

Still it's pretty amazing how they are trying to clear their stock that bad. I wonder how much money they actually are losing because of this. It would be interesting to find out how much each one costs to produce.

Hard to say. Though it would suck pretty hard if that dollar still made them profit after the wages and stuff paid to those who had to assemble them. :(

    Ebay:
The money on these has already been made. Toylines are very similar to seasonal merchandise since they come and go. Retailers make as much money as possible when they are selling at full price then are forced to clear them out to make room for the next full price series. They have to do something with them. Selling them at $1-$5 during a promotion that requires $50 for free shipping sounds better than taking them out to the desert and burying them.
    ;)

Wish they'd have done this with Electrostatic Soundwave. :)

And also, on the Bumblebee topic: why the hell did we never get a deluxe Cliffjumper figure? Would've been easy to do. Also Wasp.

The people in China makes 0.50 an hour. They can assemble about 20 deluxes in one hour. Think about it!!!

This is just not true. If it was, every retailer would carry Deluxe Transformers because the profit margin on them would be greater than 95%.

i work for a wholesale company. We sell things for $2.00 to retailers and they sell them for around $25.00+ to their customers . I 100% guarantee Hasbro is not losing any $$$$ selling deluxes for $1!!!! Hasbro produced their toys so they can afford to sell at low cost.. I don't seee retailers selling deluxes for $1 because if they do they will lose!!
