The only Takara product I have is the Cohrada/Saberback two pack that was available through the Hasbro website back when BW was still in production. Other than that I've been rather hesitant to get any other Takara products because of all the horror stories of poorly assembled figures, and have simply stuck with going for the cheaper Hasbro stuff that I can get by just hopping over to Walmart.
I also have yet to have any problems with any of the Hasbro products I have bought, so I've got no complaints with their quality control.
I probably won't be buying any Takara products anytime soon unless its a Japan only product that I really, really want.

Since Classics are coming out first, I'm getting them and tossing the packaging... Only reason why I got GF was because it came out what seems MONTHS before CYB and since I paid a little extra for them, I decided to keep the packaging...:D

Same reason why I got Primus... The fact that box kicks ass is just bonus...:p

Different safety laws in Japan vs. USA means Takomy can get away with a little more sloppiness in their work. Hasbro, on the other hand, would have to do a massive recall on their toys if things were chipping easily, breaking off easily, etc.

Sad that it all comes down to safety.

Yeah...but that is kinda interesting. I'd assume it also explains the super-adhesive, near-glue-like paints that Hasbro uses for their products (which, I believe, is different from the paint Takara uses on some of their stuff)

Hell, if Hasbro product safety is the reason their shit doesn't fall apart, then that's cool with me.

Takara for quality but US fans may not find it "worthwhile" to import their stuff...Hasbro has been catching up though.

Thanks for keeping this civil! I have never bought a Takara Tomy Transformer simply because of import prices. (I can ride a bike to Target in 3 minutes:thumb  , which I do every 2 days...) I know they have made some awesome toys, (Highly poseable tiny ops for example...) but dammit if I ain't cheap. Toys made by Chinese workers, ( mostly female children of poor farmers bringing money home to feed children) are not really quality controlled. Just the facts people...No I don't like it...

Like I said...move it to general disscussion if you want to talk about it... Takara Tomy relys on poor female Chinese factory workers to do the job...It's a fucked up job...but somebodys' got to do it...

You got proof of this??? Cuz I would like to see it firsthand... Then I'll believe it...

After spending SIX YEARS in China, I have yet to see the things that show you saw claims... Women working in fatories??? Sure... Female children??? Never seen that...

Both Takara and Hasbro toys, along with about 75% of everything on earth is made in a Chinese factory nowadays, so I don't see this being an argument for one over the other.

I like Hasbro stuff 'cause they're not imports for me, and little Takara does justifies me paying a premium.
