So I bought the LEGO Batcave set last week and noticed a piece was missing... Not a vital one, but one nonetheless...

So we emailed LEGO about it and got a quick response saying they'll ship out the piece immediately...

So the piece comes in the mail today along with a letter...

    Here's what they wrote:

Now THAT'S customer service... And yes, I know, LEGO is expensive and they should provide great customer service, etc etc... But I'm a firm believer that great customer service should come REGARDLESS of how expensive the services or goods cost...

This is why I will remain loyal to LEGO products regardless of how expensive they are...

Now if only Hasbro could follow suit...

I had a similar experiance once a few years ago, It was the Star Wars Imperial Shuttle - one of the royal guards was missing a spear, and the result was pretty much the same. They really stand behind their product and value their customers. I'm glad to see that nothing has changed.

I (and I share with my two boys) have four of the Batman sets, and plan to get the two big Batman playsets for birthdays/C-mas. It's the little extra they give that will really make you happy. I'm a customer for life. We have (insert huge number here) of Legos and Bionicles and such. And we get the catolouge every month, too. Great company, Great products, SUPERB customer service. A+ in my book.

Lego has excellent customer service. Usually, there are extra parts in the boxes, but the one time something was missing, they shipped it our right away.

I've had the same experience with lego. They get business from us every Christmas because of it.
The item I had a problem with was the Lego Racers computer game with a defective CD. It was already fairly old by the time I bought it, but they said no problem we'll ship you a new one. Lego service is excellent.

Heres a question about Lego, don't they have to pay both Lucas Arts and Hasbro licenses for the Star Wars sets, since Hasbro has exclusive toy rights or perhaps Hasbro has a stake in them?

I don't think so. There's lots of companys that make Star Wars products, not only Hasbro. If anyone has a stake, its Lucas.

I just wish I could buy the Batman minifigs on their own. I just want the batcave and arkham, not the Batboat or plane, or 50 Bat figs and a couple of villians.

I only use one Batman... All the other stay in their box... But it's awesome to have all the Bat vehicles lined up next to the Batcave...

Even though I don't really collect that many legos they always have been awesome like that. I lost the instructions to a couple kits and the lady I talked to on the phone pretty much bent over backwards trying to hunt down copies for me. Awesome. Wish I had more money after Transformers and bills to be able to get more legos.

    Denmark.

I don't think Hasbro has supreme toy rights to constructible toys based on SW. Hence why when Hasbro tried out that action-block or whatever line there whas no Star Wars in it.

Not to mention that the one with the liscensing rights is Lucas Arts. They can award it to whomever.
