Hmmm so can we get a ton of Legion/Commander class figures like in Prime and DOTM, as opposed to just one or the other like with TLK and Generations?

    I'm sold!

I hope they write Prime with some charm, warmth and wit, like he had in the original cartoon, not what Prime has become since then: All speeches and not very charismatic at all.

I do think now is the time, if any, for this (if it is truly G1-based). 80s nostalgia is all the rage right now, especially in television and movies.

But G1 pretty much are the characters of the brand. We even have different versions of those same characters today across four media (IDW, Titans Return, Bayformers and RID). Even Beast Wars was apart of G1. TF not referencing G1 is like Playmates or Nickelodeon having TMNT with all new Turtles or Mattel making Masters of the Universe without He-Man and Skeletor.

    To me it's already there.

I'm just so tired of seeing Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and so on. Once epic lines like "One shall stand" has been used so many times as of late that it's no longer epic. Stuff has become predictable like Prime dying and coming back, along with Starscream backstabbing Megatron.

For the most part, the Transformers concept are two rival armies in a huge galaxy wide civil war. Surely Hasbro can expand upon that and come up with new interesting characters that doesn't have any connections to either Prime or Megatron's army. Especially given all the Transformers media these days. Prime and company's story retelling can be told in the comics. They can have figures in the Generations themed line.

I do get that. All I'm saying that trying to focus on nothing but G1 would not be a good idea if that's your ultimate big plan to keep the franchise alive. Which is why I'm hoping that what the Cyberverse is saying about us also focusing on other eras of Transformers besides G1 like Bw,Original RID and the UT for example is true since it'll also acknowledges that other TF series left their mark on the brand.

What are you talking about, completely brand new, never before seen characters? That probably won't happen again for a very long time.

If this is the new "TV branch" following RiD, it'd be interesting to see if/how this gets reflected in toys. Would they move to merge Generations and Cyberverse into a single line (using Cyberverse to help market whichever set of characters they've decided to release).

Or will the Cyberverse figures start to be more like "G1" in terms of appearance/design, allowing Generations to continue evolving in the direction it's going where a hybrid of G1 gimmicks and characters produce new and interesting results (Dinobot combiner, triple changing Megatron, etc)

I don't know about you guys but it's pretty obvious to me where Hasbro is trying to go with this new series.

Just look at the name "Cyberverse". It's about a Universe based on characters from Cybertron. It can be used to retell old G1, Beast era stories to the modern audience BUT with an all new take. G1, Beast Wars etc. Rebooted.

Besides, the show does not have Seasons, it has Chapters. G1 could be one chapter, Beast Wars can be another.

It doesn't have to be same as the old story with new images. But rather a whole new look at G1. Think about it.

That's the idea I got during the event anyway. Could turn out to be a whole new thing but all the info we've been getting for the past few months seems to make sense now.

If this really is a remake of G1... Well, at one point I might have complained, but now I don't care. Just give me some designs with clearly defined transformation schemes and pretty please allow Optimus to be fun again. That's all I ask.

Also noses. I want to see noses.

I'm pretty excited about this. I'm curious as to what type of animation this will be, probably 2D(which I'm fine with). I've just not been that interested in RID, I loved Prime's 3rd season though. The animation in Prime season 3 just looked so beautiful.

G1 is overdone. Let it rest.
I was excited about the aligned continuity, and thought maybe we'd get some freshness out of the franchise through it. Having an aligned continuity has impact to the stories and characters instead of the past 30 years of "here's what Optimus and the Autobots vs Megatron and the Decepticons looks like for 2-3 seasons this go around".

Rehashing G1 is pathetic. I grew up with it. I've seen it done all throughout Generations, Classics, and Masterpiece. I'm so tired of Gfucking1.
