Wow, looking at that picture... I forgot how much better G1 Astrotrain looks than Classics Astrotrain.
Except in robot mode. G1 Astro's robot is terrible.
I didn't reply yet back over at OCAU FFN, but, on your tip the other day I checked chermside kmart (yesterday I think), and they had none then. But typical, sale is over now.
I might check again tomorrow if I could be arsed going back again.
Great for you fellas who's still missing him.
The only thing I think G1 astrotrain has over the Classics version imo is the train mode.
Australia - Land of the Bizzarro TF releases.
Nope, he looks good in robot mode too. It's G1.
You think we will get a Astrotrain that awesome?
Well, there it is, out in another country.
Dear Hasbro UK:
Pull your fucking finger out.
His arms are way too short and are blocked by his giant chest wing thing.
Those 2 things don't necessarily go together. Astrotrain is a DAMN fine toy, but there are a lot of stinkers in G1 too.
that is HIGHLY subjective :|
NOO DON'T YOU GET IT HE'S GEE-ONE HE'D STILL BE AWRSUM IF HE HAD A FOOTBALL FOR A HEAD AND TOILET SEATS INSTEAD OF HANDS NOTHING EVAAAR SURPASSES GEE-ONE!!!!1111 kthxbye
Word on the street says he'll be going on sale to about $18 on the 2nd of November. I haven't sighted him yet over here on the West Coast, but I am very keen on getting one as my original Astrotrain is a bit beaten up and broken. *Sigh,* I remember when I first got him along with Motormaster (Classics releases), I think it was Christmas '91.
warmin' the shelves up in he-yaar!
Wasn't he an online HBTS exclusive? Shouldn't I be pissed since that's where I got him? An exclusive, now available elsewhere?
For the record, I'm not pissed.
You should be!
I guess it's kind of a nice reward for having to put up with TRU's insane prices for all the other reissues - most of the standard ones (i.e. the 'bot cars and 'con jets) were priced at around $50 US each here. It was stupid, they warmed shelves like an automated shelf warmer.
Exclusives don't apply the same way in Australia as it does in the US. It appears to be first come first serve for retailers.
For instance, Comicon 2005 Princess Leia was available at Kmart, for some reason. Nemesis Prime popped up in some toyshops. Since there is no KB here, usually their exclusives go to TRU.
Internet exclusives can appear in stores instead, too. Target exclusive Rogue 2 Snowspeeder is sold at TRU (and appeared slightly before US release).
And of course, MP Ultra Magnus was sold at Target.
