Well seeing as Hasbro had almost no product on the shelves until DOTM I can't see how profits couldn't have gone up.
Exactly. It was more about the fact that stores stopped stocking the stuff knowing the movie toys were coming. Though, DOTM is definitely geared more towards a general audience, so it was going to jump way up there once they started showing up.
Yah maybe they should stock the shelves with all the tfs like warpath and windcharger so they could make even more money....just a thought.
I've had Hasbro stocks for years and they've never made me money, except the VERY small dividends, like $2 a quarter. As soon as their stocks goes up where I break even or make a few bucks, it's sell time.
I don't get it so why is it whenever they make remakes of the G1 toys they are sold out every were you look even on the hasbro's website but these dark of the moon stuff every were I go there stuff is full..... Well i'm not the CEO of hasbro but I do think they make good money on the remake stuff so why stop?
Because they don't, and the reason you see the G1 remake stuff sell out is because there's nowhere near as much of it as movie stuff, because they don't produce as much because it doesn't sell as well.
The Classics/Universe/Generations lines have been sub-lines. They're not feature lines like the movie lines, Animated, Cybertron, Energon etc... We see DOTM everywhere because it is a feature line and stores will always order a crapload of the feature line stuff...especially for big movies. I'm glad they don't feature the sub-line stuff more. With nothing to promote them they would clog the aisles unmercifully if there was more.
