We've updated our Hasbro Photo Archive with an in-package image of the international version of 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime. See it Here. At first glance, there is really no difference. However, upon closer inspection, you can see the date read "1985-2005" instead of "1984-2004" like it's North American counterpart.
So, it was meant to be released outside North America last year then?? Oh and Ha ha - Short Smokestacks strike again
It has been confirmed that the UK got Transformers toys in 1984. This 1985-2005 rubbish was just a silly excuse by Hasbro to release of 20th Prime in 2005 in other countries, but even they couldn't do that. Hasbro fucks up again.
is it confirmed that Hasbro will reissue 20th Prime in the US agian, if so when? I havnt been up to date, so Im not sure its only going to be sold in the UK
There's a rumor, but no official confirmation. This was clearly marked to me as an international version of this figure.
Rumors say next year, and with additional (or perhaps alternate??) accessories. It's due for release at UK branches of Toys R US this month. No indication so far of any release in any other European countries.
After looking at that I am still extreamly glad I bought my Takara Masterpiece Prime when it first released. Short Smoke Stacks stink in my opinion.
"This just in: Hasbro retroactively changes the release date of G1 Transformers. More news at 11. Back to you Tom."
I'd imagine that they are for some parts, but where do you draw the line? The UK is part of europe and TFs were released there in 1984... if you use that arguement I'm sure that TFs were released for the first time in some country around the world every year between 1984 and now, so Hasbro could do the 20th anniversary thing every year.....
