    Hello,

    I've a question regarding Habro's packaging.
I just bought two figures for my little nephew from Amazon (RTS Jazz & Generations Skyshadow). Both were listed as New, and fufilled by Amazon.

The figures doesn't seem like new upon inspecting it. Not sure how to describe it exactly. Also, behind both packages there were two plastic tabs with scotch tape on it. Is this normal, or did the seller reseal it?

I'm not a collector, so I'm not sure how to tell if the item is new or not.
I thought I would ask here for anyone who is familiar. I'd hate to pay for something that's new, but its not.

    Thank you.

That's how they're supposed to be.

The tape is apparently there to hold the bubble in place while the glue dries. They've been taping bubbles since at least 2008.

So, apart from the now solved tape issue, what was it about the figure that didn't seem new once inspected? Since you said 'also' before mentioning the taping issue, I'm assuming there was something else you were concerned about too.

On one of the wings, it looks like a grease stain and I can't rub it off. It's not a scratch or scuff mark. Jazz one has a black ink type around the lining of the mouth.

There are a few other minor cosmetic issue which I guess its from manufacturing. Plus it doesn't have that new feeling type when you open a package, if you know what i mean.
    Anyway, I'm just being paranoid.

Thank you for the clarification. Appreciate it.

Could you post pictures of the two please? It might help a little bit in advising you on the cosmetic state of the toys.

These kind of things are not unknown to happen. Injection molding does use a kind of release agent which doesn't always get fully cleaned off and could then pick up dirt, or perhaps the person that assembled your figure was just naturally greasy.
The black paint on Jazz I'm not sure of though as if I remember correctly that mold doesn't have any black paint apps where it could stray to the face. Could just be someone in the production had some pen ink on their hand. His head is black plastic (I'm assuming his face is too and not part of the blue light-piping part with his visor) so maybe it's not ink, but a thin line of missing silver paint.
Indeed. Probably just the usual occasional Hasbro hiccup with quality, but you never know.

I don't have the figures, it was shipped to his place and I just drop by yesterday to show him the transformation. (I've to admit even I had a little trouble with it haha).

I guess it just Habro quality issue.
He wanted a few other figures on Amazon, so I wanted to ask about the packaging before buying another set for him.

    Thanks again for everyone's reply.
