Sounds like someone just trying to justify their own dislike of the current comics by claiming Hasbro doesn't like them either. I bet you his uncle works at Nintendo.

A few things that show you shouldn't take the claims of a random person in the comment section seriously:

    1. The Revolution set exists. That's the opposite of showing unhappiness at the titles.
    2. They're giving still giving IDW licenses, like Visionaries.
    3. Take a look at the guy's posting history. There's a lot of complaining about ideals that lean more on the left in there. As Danny-Boy says, this sounds a lot like him trying to start rumours that Hasbro shares his feelings to justify his own.

Also, the claim that MTMTE/LL was ever IDW's top seller is just plain untrue. So that's another hit on his credibility.

I suspect there's a comment out there saying that Hasbro is literally planning on offering up the entire staff of IDW as human sacrifices to boost sales.

The only thing more trustworthy than a comment on a clickbait website would be a comment under a Youtube video. *Nods* You got it all figured out! Thanks!

I'm fairly sure the headmess that was revolutions/revolutionaries/first strike or what ever IDW change their cross promotional tie in next was the idea of Hasbro. I'm sure they wanted to use the popularity of TF to promote all their other retro products in the hope of it generating enough interest to justify a toy relaunch.

IDW says it was all their idea. Unless you're calling them liars.

Yeah, Dark Cybertron, Combiner Wars, Titans Return and (presumably) Power of the Primes are the Hasbro-mandated "brand synergy" events. Nobody at Hasbro is delusional enough to think that a modern-looking American comic series would be enough to launch an old brand back into the public eye.

The shared universe and its associated crossovers are reportedly the result of IDW getting the extra Hasbro licenses, and then Chris Ryall, John Barber and some others going "omg, omg, we should put them all together!"

To further refute the hilariously unsubstantiated claim that this thread is about, Hasbro mentioned the IDW Hasbro line in their investor presentation the other day, which they probably wouldn't do if they were very unhappy with them?

Thanks for chiming in all. It did seem pretty specious especially considering the source, but interesting given the timing re: the conversations going on here at the time. (Probably why it came up in the first place over there).

At the risk of stirring up a hornet's nest, given what we now know about what's going on, perhaps this original comment wasn't quite as specious as we thought?

Uh...no. I meant that given we are getting a reboot (you and I are at least in agreement that the reboot is a "fact" and not a rumor, right?),

which clearly indicates *someone* isn't happy with the current direction of the books, else they wouldn't be rebooted

(Roberts mentioned on Twitter he was forced to chop one story entirely and truncate another one to fit into the reboot timeline, so this isn't a creative choice that he made

    - also a fact, not a rumor)

perhaps the original rumor of people not being happy with the current Hasbroverse is true, since you know, everything that is currently based in fact points to that rumor being pretty plausible.

That scene in "Being John Malkovich" where everyone is John Malkovich and all they say is "Malkovich" but instead of Malkovich it's Michael Payton.

Well, no, as there are still several problems with it:

And of course this original comment was a Michael Payton one. That doesn't exactly help its credibility.

Uh, Roberts had to do that too when they ended MTMTE and restarted as Lost Light. Comic story changes are NOTHING NEW.

There's hardly anything "interesting" here. It's "Bleeding Cool" and some neck beard commenting on an article that has so many things wrong in the one paragraph I read that was all about "trans" sexuality and females in Transformers fiction. Of course some neck beard was gonna say Hasbro hates the comics, just like he does.

Whoa easy there guys. :) . Guess I should’ve known this is a sensitive subject!

I see where people are coming from on this and while I may not entirely agree, I certainly respect your right to disagree! Carry on bros, I’ll bounce outta this one.

    Har har. =)

More like “random guy sees that people are inordinately emotionally attached to a subject, respectfully excuses himself.

Other random guy decides that’s not good enough, wants to take shots on the way out.”

So first random guy shrugs, says “okay”, since as an emotionally mature adult this isn’t worth fighting about. Worth an adult discussion? Maybe. But not a fight with people pouting; when it devolves to that no matter who is right or who is wrong, everyone involved loses. Particularly given the subject matter - people are getting emotional not even about a comic book based on a 1980s toy property that is generally targeted at children, but about a discussion about the people and companies responsible for that production. =). Seems to me that there are far bigger hills for someone to die on.

Would having another last word about this make you feel good? You’re welcome to have it. :)
