I bet this will be at the Entertainment Earth booth at SDCC. Damn. I was hoping for Coneheads.

Still, $160? Good lord! Wasn't the original price $79.99? What changed between this version and the one from several years ago? The only thing I can see from the images are the hands.

I think the original price was around 119.99, then discounted online to 99.99... Memories' a bit fuzzy.

It was ~$79.99 initially. Then Hasbro's monkey got greedy and up it to $99.99.

The original release of Hasbro's Masterpiece Optimus was $99.99, afterwards most stores increased it to $119.99 while some (times square notably) got as high as $139.99.

The second weekend he was out a few people were able to use a 20% off coupon to get him for $80, but he was mostly sold out at that point. There was a very large restock about a month later

Kinda odd how they're going to have MP10 and the movie Masterpiece Prime as ToysRus exclusives, at pretty much the same time period. Or maybe it's NOT ODD AT ALL

BBTS still has MP-10 at $159, that's a very reasonable price considering that he was once commanding 250+ on the secondary market. Regardless, I hope you are able to get one, he is a great figure and I think that all TF fans should have MP-10 in their collection!

I have a theory that, hasbro wants to release more MasterPiece figures in America due their success (if it wasn't, they weren't going to make more re-issues), such as ultra magnus, wheeljack, other car bots and seekers, ironhide, etc.

Not just that though, hasbro wants in on the Takara masterpiece line. When they started using their own numbering, they were essentially saying their line was separate. By switching to Takara numbering, Takara style packaging (and at least in the case of the MPMs) simultaneous releases, hasbro is getting in on masterpiece sales directly. I mean, just look at the speculation thread, this is the one line where the random numbering Takara always does with every TF line is just as much a part of the experience as the characters and the figures.

That was a pretty nice video. I like how they talked about MP-10 and what it means to the fandom (and mentioned Takara).

I love how at 1:07, when they show the evolution of Optimus Prime, the toy they chose to represent G1 Prime is the super rare French red foot Prime.

Not a bad advert, although it sounds more like that woman is talking about MP-1 than MP-10 when she talks about diecast.

I'm all for a new release of OP, since I still don't have it. Only bad thing for me it will be 200 euros minimum. Thats way too expensive. Just release one without trailer for 50 dollars.

I like how they not only lifted the pictures of the Optimus Prime toys verbatim from Tfwiki, but also somehow managed to use the red-footed foreign variant of G1 Optimus.

I'm actually surprised and mildly impressed that Hasbro managed to get him in some nice poses for this promo. Almost transformed correctly across the board, too! *almost* (bumper isn't pulled forward and flush in truck mode and the pieces behind the wheels are not brought down)

I don't need one, since I have the hasbro asia release, but if it's a decent price, I may pick one up for my son. If it's 150+, I might as well just pick him up MAS-01 since he is all over mine and he already has MP-10v

Hmmmm, if the upcoming TRU one isn't much cheaper than this then I may just go through BBTS to save myself the hassle.
