Hasbro Leading The Way In The U.K.
Also leading the way in piss-poor distribution.
Connect 4 sales up 337%? Awesome!
good for hasbro. i'm also kinda surprised that their board games are up as well.
kudos for them... now give me at least the option of buying wave 5 ROTF toys this year...
'Leading the way' my arse... I'm still waiting for the 25th anniversary waves of Universe to be mass released but that's looking less than likely. News like this makes my heart sink, they know they can keep on doing things in a halfhearted way and get high sales whatever, so as long as they have a movie to hype product, there's nothing to motivate them to improve distribution.
That's great, but how is GI Joe?
All I ever got was the preview and FAB figures !
Leading the way means being better than their competitors - thats it. UK distribution has ALWAYS been the same, slow. We have our moments of getting things quick but those are just unexpected yet nice.
The movie is popular as fuck over here, kids are getting their parents to buy all sorts of Transformers merchandise all the time, kids really don't care about waves or some chase figure.
I'm confused. Wasn't the previous story referring to the UK as well? The toy lines listed as runner-ups are the same ones listed in TF@The Moon's story:
Transformers - More Than Meets The Eye, Robots In Disguise - Transformers @ The Moon - www.transformertoys.co.uk
Which was also reported here:
Transformers Claim the number 1 spot for UK toy sales in July - Transformers News
I'm really confused now.
Now if Hasbro would remember us for once in a while
Yup, still haven't found past wave 1 of the movie line. Say what you will about Blackpool, but small, remote and backwater aren't amongst it's faults.
At least the pricing is.... Oh wait that's lousy too.
Anything after wave 1 is scarce enough. Two major retailers had the line on discount about as soon as the movie opened... Bear in mind that discounts on new toy lines are very unusal in the UK toy market.
They've been sighted. Small numbers, but there have been sightings.
yes in the US. But as its been pointed out in its own topic the UK/EU stock has been reallocated to fill US orders. So that's why I got my nerd range on.
Wave 5 deluxes are out and about. It's wave 4 we've not got and are unlikely to find in the time being.
I'm not going to get my hopes up for anything beyond what we've got now until after christmas after emailing them about Bruticus and denying knowledge of it.
I'm throwing this in here, just in case poeple didn't see it elsewhere:
Saw Wave 4 Jolt, Dead End and Blazemaster in a Smyths today. No Ice Cream Van.
They also had more of Preview Bumblebee and Soundwave... but none of the Wave 5 items that are supposedly shipping them.
I'm GUESSING that Hasbro UK are now getting random case assortments with BB, Soundwave and a selection of toys from Wave 5 AND/OR Wave 4.
It's possible the Ice Cream Van was in the case, or maybe it wasn't can't say for sure.
I think Wave 5 is about a couple of weeks away from reaching mass retail. Wave 5 is out in euro packaging at Forbidden Planet International (£12.99) and they usually get stock a few weeks before the rest. However juding by the amount of Wave 1 figures in Tescos and Sainsburys it may take months to reach them unless they have a toy sale. GI Joe are on 25% off at sainsburys but no sign of any TF reductions apart from the odd store discontinuing certain figures i.e HA Bumblebee at £12.50.
No such sale at my local Sainsburys.
It's encouraging the sightings of wave 4 figures in Ireland. I guess the ones in the other FP are imports at £14.99.
Don't bother emailing Hasbro UK as they are useless and either know nothing or can't be arsed looking for the release details.
