Was just looking at all the releases this year and I started noticing just how sneaky Hasbro is. We've almost received the entire "main cast" from the original Transformers the Movie.

In the last 8 months, this is what we've had:

    - Generations Blurr
    - Generations Scourge
    - Generations Sergeant Kup
    - Battle in Space - Cyclonus & Rodimus, with Matrix (and movie tie-in comic)
    - Powercore Combiners - Grimstone & Dinobots

    Takara has given us...

    - Masterpiece Rodimus Convoy
    - Three packs of Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr
    - Three packs of Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge
    - G1 accurate Unicron
    - G1 Cybertron colored Primus

We're celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the first movie, and Hasbro didn't even mention it! Unless I missed something somewhere.

An Arcee would really round that off nicely

All I want is a more accurate galvatron. The tank one just doesn't do it for me. A deluxe would work...but a masterpiece would be better....hehe

I'm sure it was planned. It's pretty obvious when you look at the comic.

Why they decided not to mention it on the packaging may just have been an oversight, or may have been decided by another department.

    Not to mention Wreck-Gar too.

Wonder what else is in the pipeline for Generations this year. Wheelie? Springer? Arcee? (Yes, I know about the confusion with the TFPrime version, but still)

Don't forget Wreck-Gar, the Scrapheap from the 3-pack, and maybe Scrapheap and the other head from Hasbro. Something else I noticed is that two characters that debuted in the movie are in one wave (Kup and Scourge) followed by a wave of characters (Wheeljack and Thundercracker) that died in the movie. Well Thundercracker reformatted but whatever as Scourge is nothing like him. You could probably count Perceptor and MP Grimlock too given there presence in the movie.

Now bring on a proper Springer, Arcee, and a Voyager Ultra Magnus please. I wouldn't be too surprised if we see Unicron by years end although I think that is unlikely.

I'm happy about this. Would be nice if it were more public instead of a connect-the-dots sort of anniversary.

And: scout Wheelie, please. Windcharger repaint/tool?

I was thinking the same thing with the the release of the newer waves of Generation and RTS.

It would have been cool if Hasbro did something special as far as packaging and promotion for the 86 Movie seeing that it was released in August 25 years ago, but who knows... Maybe Hasbro has something up planned for the summer that we'll find out about at Botcon this year or maybe even at SDCC... It would really suck if they didn't.

My wish list would include releasing the 86 Movie in select theaters across the country for a limited time (maybe in 3D) and more 86 Movie figures, such as Arcee, Springer, a US release of Takara 2010 Unicron, United Megatron, Henkei Optimus Prime and possibly a new voyager class Galvatron and Rodimus Prime.

That would be nice and the TF geeks around the world would rejoice and all of a sudden there would be world peace. :)

Wow, kudos to Hasbro if this was all intentional.

I actually kinda noticed it with all the Roddy hubbub going on and with BIS and all the characters that have been released which had some major roles in the movie. But seeing as how Hasbro wasn't giving any effort to be formal about it, I just shrugged it off.

I love that the movie cast finally got some recognition, it seemed like for the longest time everyone only wanted to focus on pre-movie. Hell, I'm glad we got Thunderwing and Skullgrin, Pretenders FTW! Here's to some more post movie figs!

I noticed the prevalence of movie figs straight away once we knew lineup. I'm tempted to call it blatant rather than sneaky. It is everything short of putting a 25th anniversary banner. Granted, there are other figs coming out, but the dearth of movie related classics previously and windfall recently is striking
