Thats not entirely true, the point is that the toys come first, and they effect the comics. Hasbro will make whatevers happening with the toyline happen in the comics, because money. The toys make a hella lot more mkney then the comics, you can't even compare it.

I havent bought a transformer toy for myself since Beast Machines ended. I only buy stuff for my children now. And like you I hate complex trasnformations. Sucks the fun right out of playing when you have to stop and take 30 minutes to freaking transform a toy . With that said................................

my boy is 8, I gave him MP10V and he transformed it without even looking at the instructions and has been playing with it since Christmas almost every day and has had no problems. Its by far sturdier and a whole lot less fragile than say titan returns Optimus. The only other MP items I can speak for his Grimlock and Starsaber ( which again I gave him for this past christmas ( again he is 8 years old ) so I dont know about the rest. But again MP 10 V from the Chinese company KBB is by far Sturdier, NOT COMPLEX and a WHOLE LOT more fun to handle than ANY Hasbro/Takara Optimus Prime I have ever handled since the the line started.

 

and what a year or roughly so before that in the Takara Legends line we got the original/remolded more like Tv toy released too.

I love Beast Wars, for me its part of g1, but its been way longer for Star Saber and Deathsauraus so thats where my votes are going. It also helps my boy and I are watching Victory at the moment and I know he will want more of those characters when it finishes.

 

I'm just hoping for a surprise win for either Hound or Arcee. I like the other guys enough, but I am almost certain they will get toys sooner or later and thus see voting for them in order to get toys pointless. I want to see someone who hasn't filled the role fill the shoes of leader and I am particularly curious what theoretical Rodimus style upgrades would look like for the pair (although I think Arcee has much more potential to look cool.)

 

Not really as significant as Hasbro doing it but I get your point. Cant really say that cos Hounds on the list he'll get a toy, he will 99% sure get a new figure in less than 2 years

 

Symbiotic doesn't always mean the relationship is mutually beneficial. But my point is that the two are now inexorably linked.

Toys come first, absolutely. I'm not arguing that. But if the first two parts of the Prime Wars trilogy appear in the comics, its a pretty safe bet that the third and final part -- Power of the Primes -- will too. And our introduction to that part? This vote. Common sense tells us the result will probably feature in the comics down the track.

Common sense based on previous events. I'm just playing the averages here.

 

This is my thought too, Takara is also releasing LG-02 Optimus Primal here shortly.... Given the downsizing/hollow parts, etc, would a new Generations Optimus Primal be any better/different than the toys that have come before?

It's a bit different when talking about g1 figures that were bricks.

Okay everybody, it's almost time, so I think it's time to ask how representative you guys think our poll is of the final results? Will Star Saber and Primal have to rule together because the vote is too close to call? or will someone else take over?

Honestly, I think all these votes have all been rigged ever since the Erector vote at Botcon several years ago. Hasbro thinks the fans wouldn't/don't take the voting serially and they are not going to risk their profits because the fans make a joke out of it. However, marketing research and customer data can be both hard to come by and pricy. Why not make a "fan vote" and let all that info come to them for free.

If Hasbro was going to make a Trypticon, Omega Supreme and a Scorponok anyways then why make a vote for it?

Every Prime needs a worthy adversary. Optimus has Megatron. Rodimus has Galvatron. The pattern echoes down through the ages.

The only thing Arcee has been doin in idw is posing and posturing to the delight of preteens everywhere, making her a prime would only make it worse. Barber loses a reader if it comes to that.
