Do they or do they not officially troll Hasbro with their comparison pics always showing more paint apps? Funny.

Hasbro Brainstorm is fine to me in this case though.

 

Shit. Do I really want the Takara version?

 

The Takara one looks great, but I don't want to pay that much. I'm fine with the Hasbro one. I'm waiting to find him in the wild... and Gears. I want my freaking Gears.

 

Both fail when compared to Smart Robin.

 

Unless you want a G1/IDW accurate character in which case this one comes out on top.

 

Damn, Takara's looks really nice with the brighter, slightly more numerous paint apps and especially that silver midsection. I daresay the latter detail really breaks up that turquoise extremely well.

However, I'm sure Reprolabels will make a sticker set that can upgrade the Hasbro to the Takara standard in time, and no silver midsection might actually be a good thing as that allows the headmaster star bars to not be drowned out as much.

 

I only really prefer the canopy on the takara one. The Hasbro one is more comic accurate, even though it has less paint.

Pretty nice but really I going to grab LG Brainstorm to avoid the QC prolems I heard about

 

Fail to what? One is Brainstorm. The other is some robot made by a Chinese company unaffiliated with the Transformers brand.

 

I'm surprised they didn't give it a mouth, like in the Japanese Headmasters cartoon on the Takara version.

 

The extra paint apps aren't enough to sway me (even though they do look better), but that delicious amber canopy will do it. The one thing that bugs me on Hasbro's is the canopy being such a light pilsner color. I think this will be the first time I buy a Takara toy based on canopy color.  

 

I thought from the initial pictures that the grey was more black than it turned out. Without that change...well, there's not a whole lot different between the two beyond the cockpit color and a few extra paint apps...

 

Some nice added detail, but not enough really to pay extra for Takara's here.

 

So the added paint on the wings, and a few dabs here and there are the only differences?

 

They'd have to go beyond deco and retool the mold in order to do that. Not unthinkable (the whole Arms Micron line did it), but pretty rare for Generations.

 

Hei when you are paying Japanese prices, may as well go for the Takara one. Small difference anyways.

BBTS preorder for Hasbro = 26.99.

The fools are the one paying 44.99 at BBTS for the Takara version.
