Posted a video review in the review forum, but figured I'd get a picture thread started here.
Kick ass repaint on an already incredible mold...I think everyone should own one of these...one of my most fav TF molds ever.
I love vintage alt mode Transformers.
I'm usually not one to buy a mold twice (I already have Highbrow), but this guy looks so good --and the mold is so fun-- I may get him. The new head and shark decals are terrific. The only quibble I have is the purple, but it doesn't look so bad in these pics.
Thanks TJ, I couldn't find a proper feedback thread for this guy, so I was gonna start one up. Since you already did it, I might as well add some pictures!
I couldn't get Highbrow so this is my first time with this mold. I'm pretty impressed, he's quite poseable, the altmode is incredible (I love WW2-style vehicles) and the transformation is pretty interesting. The headsculpt is very cool too, with amazing lightpiping (the eyes shine throught the visor when it's down, I tried to capture it in one picture but it's way stronger in person). The colorscheme is fantastic and he's not lacking in paint-apps either.
One thing I can't seem to find in this guy is any 3mm clip bars. Does this mold have any?
I never own the same molds twice but this guy looks so amazing that I might hav to reconsider. If he was on toysrus.com I might hav bought him already
Might buy b/c I don't have the mold and the colors look less fugly than Highbrow.
I just realized hes a perfect partner for rts lugnut. Both are vintage aircraft, pretty close color scheme, and they each have spikey tooth decals round their cockpit! Must get...
Are the missiles under the wings removable?
Funny you say that, I think this deco is a bit garish, especially with the red propellers...
Without being able to dig out my Highbrow att, I believe they're easily removable, only attached by a screw... iirc.
off topic, wasn't Powerdive oriiginally an Autobot?
Definitely a neat mold. The arms/hands in bot mode are weird, and I still haven't quite gotten used to it. I like this head better than Highbrow's, though.
He's neat. I might get him and Hot Spot.
Yeah, but names switch factions all the time. Or they used to. It's not like Powerglide switched sides, there's just another dude out there named Powerglide.
No, Powerdive has only ever referred to this character. Improbably enough, for such a generic name.
the mold is cool as is the deco and i still have yet to find this guy.
i did mess with a highbrow and hate the hands how limited in movement they are, but thats ok.
Oh really? Generation 2 Rotor Force would like a word with you
^ Yes, it is the same character. Why do you think I even want this thing? I had like 12 Transformers growing up, one of them was this guy.
WOW! Never knew that reference. The colors are spot on!
That said, I still cant stop messing with this one. Dont let internet pics ruin your chance to own this fantastic figure. Its the best GDO voyager of this wave, and its in my top 5 fav voyager molds of all time. The arms do not work bad, there is alot of articulation and the purple (which I was even turn off by on internet pics) looks fantastic on this one. My buddy brought one by way before these were released here, (he imported it) and I was sold then.
Im guilty of it, I judge something by internet pics only to find out I love it in hand sometimes. this is a clear case that if your just looking at pics online and have never held the actual mold...your missing out.
Really want this guy. Here's hoping I can get one at retail. Only one of the GDOs other than Thundercracker I really want.
Wanted Highbrow for the alt-mode, but I didn't like his deco and headsculpt... this... kinda fixed both of those things. That said, he's going to be Ransack for me, not Powerdive.
^^ Just curious..what is it about Highbrow that you dont like color wise? DAMN..I think its one of the best looking alt modes made in recent years.
