Posted this morning at TheWrap.com (which I saw via AVClub.com).

A leaked internal email memo reveals that a movie based on all Hasbro toys is in very early stages of development.

If this actually goes anywhere, seems like a lock that it would contain Transformers, GI Joe, and My Little Pony. (crossover!)

I'm not sure this is a good idea... but hey, there it is.

Why do I feel like I've heard this before? Was it announced at NY Toyfair?

I could see it being a cute D2DVD release, but a full blown theatrical film featuring nothing but your specific company's toys? That's just a bit too much self promotion.

Yeah, there was something a while back outlining all the movie ideas they were toying with in addition to Transformers and GI Joe; Battleship, Monopoly, Stretch Armstrong, My Little Pony, and this Hasbro Factory idea.

    *edit*

There it is, dated May 25th:

It'll appeal to the little'uns, and I think that's where it's aimed. This one probably ain't for us, folks.

Could be a few nice scenes/references that may be fun, might be worth checking out on DVD.

I'll wait for more details before thinking any more about it. :)

And if they get voices that properly fit the toys, like if a Prime comes to life, then Peter Cullen, Primal has Garry Chalk, etc.

When we heard this the first time I was thinking more like a cross between Night at the Museum and Small Soldiers.

I wonder if they're using just the toys... or if they're actually going to take movie versions of each of the characters, and do a cross-over.

Somebody at Hasbro has too much time, and too much 'creative freedom' this has fail written all over it.

Not much is anymore. If tjey take the best ideas from all three of those movies it should be a fun experience.

Sounds EXACTLY like something Lego is doing.
