Okay, listen up. There's been a lot of smack against Igear "copying" from Hasbro. But, I'm curious if Hasbro is now copying Igear? Reason for my question is the release of MP10 which is said to be a scaled down version of MP04 or Masterpiece Prime. Isn't that essentially what Igear's Faith Leader is?
    How do the two compare?

I believe MP-10 is actually a whole new mold, and not just a scaled down version of MP-01. Not mentioning the trailer and extra bits it will have included.

But really, even if HasTak want to do a scaled down version of their own toy, who are we to complain?

    1. This is Takara's work, not Hasbro's
    2. MP10 is not a scaled down version of MP01 like Faith Leader is. It is a whole new mold.
    3. Takara likes making new Optimus Primes, they don't need iGear's inspiration for that

    What are you smoking?

MP-10 is a new mold and so what if Hasbro downscales their OWN product?

I want to see iGear shrink MP-10 down to Voyager size now.

I will say that I would not be surprised if part of the decision to make Optimus at the size they picked was at least partially because of i-Gear's Faith Leader. It showed that there was a genuine demand for an Optimus figure in this scale. But as has been said, it's a whole new figure, so for the most part, it's an irrelevant question.

While I dont think this was Taks way of Koing a ko, I do think this was done as a response to PP01. I know it was only a matter of time before they made another Mp prime but this was rather quck no? Is a nice way of saying "we can do that too. We can give a better scaled down prime." At least I think so.

It's non illogical to release a Prime in scale with all the other MP's. Granted I think it's a waste of money to buy a new Prime and a waste of engineering to make a new Prime, but the motivation I'm sure has less to do with copying a 3rd party and more to due with cashing in on Convoy fever and the wish of fans to have a smaller Prime to fit in with Seekers, Rodimus and Grimlock.

Despite my above post, I kinda agree with you. My first though upon seeing MP10 was "hm, I wonder if the people who bought Faith Leader are regretting it now?" But then I saw MP10's price and said "probably not."

why don't people read. He is not saying mp-10 is a scaled down mp or pp01 he's saying Hasbro saw how people received the smaller MP and countered with a new smaller mold.

    well one person gets it

I think it has more to do with Rodimus and Grimlock really.

Um... I think it's you that haven't read it properly. OP clearly says:

Which it is not, obviously, but he did say it. So there we go.

This just dawned on me today and you will hear me say it a lot until the truth comes to light.

I have been seeing way too much going on with iGear and how they have access to Takara moulds, access to inside info (I heard they knew about the MP10 design long ago which is why they really pumped out Faith Leader and all the repaints as quickly as possible) and now using the Autobot logo on Impactor.

iGear is an unofficial offshoot company supported by Takara.

What has been confirmed about MP10? What do you mean it's a completely new mold? Meaning it look's nothing like the MP-Primes we've seen before from Hasbro/Takara?
I had assumed MP10 "Was" a scaled down version of MP04 and that's why I was comparing it to Faith Leader. I actually like the size of MP04 as it fit's well with the Alternator series.

Was MP10 showcased at the recent BotCon?

I think you mean is TakaraTomy copying Igear.

And no, this Prime is to fit in with their new, smaller MPs. He's a whole new (and better) figure, wheras Igear's was just a mini MP-Prime.

Yes. The molding and design is completely different (this is most obvious in the shins/feet and the abs).

    Well guess again ;)
