News Post: Hasbro Cinematic Universe Is Shrinking, Transformers Unaffected
I would have preferred ROM over micronauts, but whatever... wonder if something is also changing in the IDW-verse...
Now I'll never get my Jem crossover!
Joking aside I'd love a GI Joe/Transformers movie because then we'd get TF toys with proper cockpits...sigh.
Well shit, ROM was the only cool one... Although, given the right creative talent, something interesting could be done with Micronauts.
the cinematic universe was hardly a fuckin thing in the first place...
M.A.S.K and Visionaries (was that even going to be part of it) would’ve been the ones that I’d like to see made into live action. Typical!
ROM was the one I was mildly interested with.
W-wait...does that mean another G.I. Joe movie? In the words of Beast Wars Megatron...."YESSSSSS"
I know they didn't do as well as Transformers but I appreciate they realized what turned people off in the first film and attempted fixed it. (unlike Bay's movies) I can understand the major changes Transformers was given in order to transfer better to a film, but the changes to G.I. Joe were not necessary much like how I felt about TMNT but they do get a thumbs up for realizing the mistakes. Plus I would love to see that amazing Cobra Commander costume that was in the 2nd one again.
In an ideal world, I'd want Hasbro to continue on with Joe and Micronauts like they're doing, but then pass ROM's movie rights to Marvel and go "have at it".
Maybe that's why they didn't make a Rom movie, doesnt he have legal hoohaw with Marvel? I know he's in the new comics but for movies it might be different? idk
But yeah wish we got ROM instead of Micronauts tbh, but i'll take either
I don't give a crud about this cinematic universe unless it gives me a freakin' Cogman movie.
No. ROM is Hasbro property.
Some parts of the mythos are Marvel property, just like Death's head and Circuit Breaker from TF franchise belong to Marvel.
Modern (already gone) ROM comic series simply did not use said elements.
oh no, not the xevoz movie
It's more like a "had". Everything's kinda sorted out now, but Marvel still acknowledges in encyclopedias and such that ROM exists/existed in Earth-616, and the concept of Spaceknights is still around, used most recently, both in name and in similar design with Venom.
I dunno, it'd be kinda cool to have a pulpy, fantastical ROM movie that works like if the comics were in the MCU.
Good hasbro deserves to get their balls chopped for the bayverse and the first two G.I. joe movies.
Indeed. Transformers, GI JOE (barely). That's it. Anything else either doesn't matter or doesn't exist.
Less so for the joe movies.
Well, good to hear that Transformers will be unaffected.
I really don't see how every company believes they need a cinematic universe, and they only way to accomplish that is by throwing away everything they're already working on, or only keeping the worst bits of what already exists and building on that.
Just make good movies. Who cares if it lays the ground work for a "us too! us too!" "wish we were marvel" universe?
Separate names with a comma.
