This is obviously not a convention aimed at TF collectors. The pricing and the swag, at least so far, is completely unimpressive. The attendee and exhibitor prices are egregious at best and offensive at worst. This was Hasbro's only chance to make a first impression on the scores of collectors that purchase their products and they failed.

Botcon, for all of their mistakes, did many things right. 'The devil you know' and all that.

I could have overlooked the greed and the ponies, but not Chewbacca mom.
Let's not start looking back at FunPub as if they were perfect now though.

Since TFCon takes place in D.C. This year I feel the following is appropriate.

Alternative Fact: This Years TFCon is actually going to be MLP focused.

Also, re: Chewbacca Mom - Let's remember that the first FP BotCon had a kid who was in like, an Energon toy commercials as a guest.

Not to mention there's Pete's Robot Con next month and TFExpo as well. Plenty of options other than HASCON

I'm going to speculate here, but I'd wager they just haven't announced other "Super Star" packages yet. Limiting the "super cool exclusive stuff" to the MTG and D&D audiences seems a bit shortsighted. It may be a "we don't announce this until we are certain that things will be produced in adequate numbers/in the warehouse" deal, I dunno, but there WILL be Transformers exclusives, there WILL be a Joe exclusive, and there WILL be an MLP exclusive. There MIGHT be a NERF exclusive too. The real question is what will those exclusives look like? Will it be, as some have rumored, another TR boxset? Will it be an SDCC-style goofy fun thing like Knights of Unicron? Will it be a bunch of retail toys in a gift basket?

They've got a little lead time to announce this. We are just this month getting announcements about SDCC exclusives, and SDCC is two months away. Hascon is four months out. If they want this to be comparable to SDCC, they're doing okay on timeline.

EDIT: Hasbro hasn't even announced their TF exclusive for SDCC yet. Cautious optimism.

Bought tickets for the family. I've got 3 boys, and they each would find something cool to do here. Bit pricey, but doable for a one-day stint.

I just noticed the "FANmily" pun. Okay guys. I love puns but that's a bit of a stretch.

...a bit of a Stretch ARMSTRONG.

HA! I'll be here all week, folks.

I agree but you would think that they would've learned a few things from Botcon and other Convention's mistakes. That and if they do have exclusives Generations figures lets hope they make them available for more than just Hascon ticket holders and at a more reasonable price......

Odds are they'll be playing the same price gouging games as Botcom if not worse....but wishful thinking and all.

I've always wanted to visit the Northeast, but this isn't the catalyst to make me do it.

I see that Stan Lee, Peter Cullen and Welker are listed as guests, but I don't see any information on if you have to buy extra stuff to see them specifically or if they are part of general admission.

Am I looking in the wrong place, or just nothing out yet beyond "hey these guys are coming"

Well that's good news if the exclusives aren't stupid, the prices aren't too ridiculous and HTS's site doesn't crap the bed.

    Hasbro HASCON 2017

What is the autograph signing policy?

We ask that you not* bring personal items to be signed. Artists and talent will only sign event merchandise purchased on the day of the event. Proof of purchase, such as a valid HASCON receipt, may be required. * The exception to this policy is for MAGIC: THE GATHERING cards. You may bring your own cards to be signed, with a limit of 10 cards per session.
