Well none of the figures I have that are chipping were chipping at the time I purchased them. It's only a recent development, and these toys are a lot older than Henkei.

 

Well, none of my Takara BW figures are chipping either . I think the problem was limited to Hasbro release toys.... Do you have Takara BW figures with chipping problems?

 

It's a mixture of both.

 

Well that's pulling an answer out of your butt. Chrome spray and vacuum metallizing cost money. Money Hasbro is typically not willing to spend for a toy that retails at $10 to $12. Again, Takara retails Henkei figures between $20 to $25 to recoup the added cost of paint and chrome.

 

Well that sounds like you have bad luck . I have zero Chrome problems on any of my figures... of course, I never played with them either lol 

So if your buying them to play with... I don't know how the chrome is going to hold up.

 

That's just another reason, my answer was no less valid than yours.

 

Validity is debatable. Simple truth is that Hasbro runs a business, and everything boils down to the cost/profit ratio. Occam's Razor.
