In a recent article (5 Minutes ago actually) from adage.com, hints us that Hasbro will broadcast 1 hour (most probably each day, I guess) of cartoons from the 1980 era. The article also states that a new “revamped” Transformers series might debut on 2010/10/10. (This news, we all know :D )

Sounds like a no brainer to me. Will be glad to see G1 back on the airwaves.

Awesome! But while I have all of the G1 episodes on DVD and watch them constantly, I wouldn't mind at all catching up on some old GI Joe.

One thing that makes me wonder is, with the Hub debuting in October, will this give Transformers: Prime enough time to have a solid series (26 episodes, for example) before TF 3 comes out in July? Or will Prime be put on hold temporarily and start back up after TF 3? I just have a feeling that Prime will suffer the same fate as Animated, only it will have less than 9 months for a series run, whereas Animated had nearly 18.

That would help big if they did re-broadcast the original TF series. Forget that it's been 2-3 times released on DVD, word of mouth about this really would be beneficial. Plus if they put all the other TF series either from the U.S. or internationally on it (Masterforce, BW Neo, BW, BM, RiD, BW II, Animated, Energon, Armada, Cybertron, etc) at some point alongside TF: Prime like a lead in, this thing could get hot quickly.

It would be so sweet to see G1 on TV, along with GI Joe.

Revamped...that could mean anything from cleaning up the original (remastering it) to a brand new G1 show. Brand new would rock! Heck, we might even get some better toys out of it too!

    Agreed.

If they could get BW back up, too, It'd be perfect.

I already have GI Joe & TF on DVD, hopefully the "80's toons" content will include many of the shorter run Sunbow/Marvel shows (Inhumanoids, Robotics, Visionaries etc...)

Sounds like an all around win.

Fills in some of the broadcast time for the Hub so that's a little less new programing that the network has to pay for right out of the gate.

Old fans get to relive part of their youth with it being broadcast again, or perhaps it will be something to fill in late night like Adult Swim.

Young fans get to see some of these old characters in action so they will want Generations toys as much as us geezers.

Sounds great, I don't own the dvds so it'll be cool to just tune into G1/GI Joe and the like.
