I honestly don't see the connection. Also, there is supposed to be 40 robots in the movie, though I think most of the one's we don't already know about will probably just be background bots. Other than Shia LaBeouf playing a main role in each movie, and each movie involving aliens, I honestly don't see any other similarities. That and we really don't know the story for RotF yet, just certain elements that'll play a part of the story.

Please, let's NOT turn this thread into yet another Indiana Jones 4 hate fest.

Yeah, I can see some connections between the two. Aliens - check. Pyramids - check. Shia - check. I can see why you'd say that. Tho I think its more similar to Return of the Mummy or Stargate than Indiana Jones. It seems to be again just using the plot lines of other movies and adding giant robots.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out, and without making a snarky joke. Fixed it in my post.

I am not quite sure on this, but at least as far as MUSIC goes, there is supposedly a large enough amount that we'd never run out.

Why would Hollywood ever want to make new, creative movies is the question. Look at the posters here, they crave rehashed old plot lines and even think of old ideas as new. If Hollywood can keep bilking these people of their money to see the same story slightly changed, then why would they ever want to get creative?

the problem with fiction is it's an amalgamation of already existing ideas, so there's bound to be a crossover. not saying that it's impossible to come up with completely original content, but when working with deadlines it becomes neccesary to find a combination of ideas that work together. it's not really ripping anything off, it's just that in a world where just about everything has been done, sometimes plot points have to be borrowed and recontextualised.

Providing the writers actually based The Fallen off the original Fallen, then no, its not ripped off Indy 4. Especially since Indy 4 came out sometime after this plotline (somebody say I'm right o.o)

Yay for apologists! See, boys and girls? Laziness and plagiarism is ok if you have deadlines to meet.

TF has ripped off alot of movies from the past, theres nothin original about the plot. all that matters is that it has my favorite robots from the 80s.

That movie was so shrouded in secrecy that we knew NOTHING! Also, since Steven Spielberg himself directed the movie while simultaneously sitting on meetings to give us notes on the sequel script, he could've spoken up at any time!
