Hahaha I never saw that video. I guess I'd be pissed too, and not to wish the guy harm, but had the video recorded him having a "minor" accident, I would have laughed. Minor enough for him not to get hurt, but for him to say, "Awww, fock!"

Anyway, since a lot of people don't know what happens, and this movie is based on a book that people have read, maybe a "potential spoilers" should be on the title.

I didn't know that. I just started reading the books. Not everyone read the books all at the time when they came out, or even paid attention to the general hype surrounding them. While Harry Potter may seem quite popular, the details are not exactly in the 'common knowledge' level of pop culture.

Reading that spoiler really deflated my excitement to get to the next book. But I suppose it's my fault for reading the thread in the first place. I often forget how many people get a thrill out of tossing spoilers around. I don't quite understand the psycology behind it, but such is the internet I guess.

Don't worry. That line doesn't spoil anything. The REASON is way more important than the act. Trust me. And HP6 is gonna be awesome. I'm still pissed that WB moved it back simply to push TDK ticket sales. Bollucks.

this isnt exactly a thrill, harry potter and the half blood prince been out for 4 years, if you were at a school most people, were yelling what happened, There was simply no way you could escape it.

So yeah I would really call it on popular culture.

Hell I remember how my c++ profesor- she was arround 3-4 years older than the class she taugth- on deathly hallows she said this"Ok i heard the internet has deathly hallows and being that my copy arrives in 3 days....I give EXTRA MARKS if you get me a copy before class is over"

easiest extra mark I ever had.(I happened to be reading it on the psp)-figured I had already payed for it , so reading early wasnt exactly a crime-
(gets funnier when you realize I have two copies, )

Well, I watched it last night at an advanced screening.

And, I liked it. I'm not sure if I loved it. My main issue lies with
Dumbledore not being given enough screen time to give his death full emotional weight
and whoever plays Ginny being a fairly awful actress. Combine her with the fairly awful Emma Watson, and then you have two fairly awful female leads. Oh, and Malfoy steals the show, really making you wish there was more of him in it.

Still, very enjoyable and good fun, I'm just not sure if I could appreciate it fully.

He doesn't even have as many lines as you'd expect, but I found myself caring more about him than any of the other characters.

Just bought my tickets online for Wednesday afternoon. The wife and I are big fans of the series -- own all the hardcovers and all the 2-disc DVDs. The books are better, as is almost always the case. But as movies made from novels go, you don't find many better than the HPs.

8/10. Definitely had it's flaws, but it more than makes up for it in beautiful cinematography and some wonderful performances (despite the stinkers).

That I dont mind, Im more, well terrified of the SQQUEEESSS of the Draco in leather pants fangirls.-look the tv trope-

and the midnigth ticket is bound to be full of those kinds of fangirs. Still watching just not sure if I should expose my sister to that kind of evil

-my fangirl experience has not been very good(twiligth fangirls cemented my feelings towards them even more-hearing squees during the entire movie does that to you)

I thought that's what you were getting at.

There will be a squee overload in a scene where
Snape pins Draco against a wall and discusses trust.
    Yeah.

I'm going tomorrow. Could NOT be more excited. It's my favourite book in the series, and I just adore the films (as I accept that it is impossible to make them entirely accurate, I enjoy them for what they are.)

I read all the books as they came out, then saw the first 4 movies.
They really didnt do anything for me.
I did actually get around to watching Order of the Phoenix the other day, and found it to be really enjoyable. Then when I saw the trailer for this one attached to Transformers, yeah, I'll be getting tickets.
Hopefully this should rekindle my interest.
