we had a pre-order for it at work, but it was pulled due to uncertainty of it making its July release, since its not even finished being written. so well see
ok whats the worst way this series could end at work we came up with "harry woke up in the cuboard under the stairs, the last 7 years of his life were just a dream, he was not a wizard" lol
With JK Rowling buying a gold plated house and spending the rest of her life trying to prove that she isn't a one trick pony.
No freakin way man! Ive read all the books and it is awesome! Im a freakin hardcore Death Metal Head and I read the F*** outta some Harry Pothead!
I'm looking forward to it too. As long as Ron and Hermione don't die I'll be happy. J.K. can kill off Harry (heroically of course) if she wants to though and I won't be upset, but I hope he lives too.
Have you heard the speculation about Harry having to die? Rowling supposedly doesn't want anyone carryong on with the series after she's dead or anything.
Yeah, I have. Like I said I don't mind if she kills Harry or not. It would make sense if she doesn't want anyone to continue her franchise and mess with her characters. I just want Ron & Herminone to live happily ever after though. Yeah, I'm a shipper, so sue me.
Funnily enough, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator/author of Sherlock Holmes, killed off Holmes for that exact reason. It didn't last. Someone brought Holmes back from the dead and continued the stories. I suppose Wikipedia or Google would have the answer but eh, I'm too lazy.
For those interested, there's also a deluxe version. There's a forum post about the differences between the two versions. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0545029376/105-5344078-9602014
i believe it began with four men emerging claiming to be Sherlock, one was teenage clone, one was a man in a suit of armor, one a kryptonian, and one was a cyborg
I vaguely recall the Wiki entry...I believe that Doyle had Holmes and Moriarty both fall into a waterfall. Few years later it turns out that it was faked. Only Moriarty's dead. But now here are a couple books that establish Moriarty suddenly being a nemesis before the book in which he debut'd + died. Something like that... I expect that, given the existance of magic in the Harry Potter 'verse, someone will eventually get ahold of the property and begin book-churning.
Hey that's interesting. I didn't know the details behind Holmes' "death." The more I think about it, the more I think I will be disappointed if Potter makes it out alive.
For further info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_Holmes#The_Hiatus Will be interesting to see down the line if Rowling can maintain the end of the Potter books while not giving in to promises of more money down the road.
what's wrong with book 5? it rocked! i'm really looking forward the new book, i hope JK rowling can pull out a very good ending to this
iirc it was Conan-Doyle who brought Holmes back for a few stories, made it so he'd faked his death in order to catch some of his enemies unawares and bring them to justice. Think he did it under pressure from the magazine that published his stories and public demand.
