Finally got around to making that video of the cannon fire I promised check it out.

Or in other words I gutted a TFTM Leader Brawl and I took his electronics and top turret and cannon with electronics and transplanted them into/onto Universe HardHead to give him the kick ass IDW version look to him.

This is inspired by the epic kitbash done by Tsangkin.

I wanted the turret and cannon to retain the sounds they make which was a tad bit complicated but manageable. HardHead will have a new head to say the least but making him a headmaster is still up in the air as of yet. I found a nice head that will need minimal modding and I still need to find the right minicon or another Universe Nightstick.

Weapon will include a BFSR (Big F%$king Sniper Rifle) and I will be replacing Universe HardHead's flip out gun barrel with the mini gun from Brawls arm. And it will still flip out but it will have to be moved by hand not flip switch.


When I look at this pics I only think one thing. "Punk ass Decepticon!!!"

Here is a quick pic of Hardhead as of this afternoon. And Yes the main cannon still makes the firing noise. I would have taken a back pic but it still a bit messy and I had to run.

Now that I have been dabbling into electronics more I think this is the bar I was talking about raising for myself. I didn't even set out to mess around with electronics either it just happened.

UPDATE!!!! 12-05-09

Here are a few more shots for you all to see. I got a Alternators Hound head cast from a site online and It being a solid piece really helped out alot with carving the dip onto the head to give it that more of a Hardhead look and feel.

And here is a pic of the TFTM Brawl's arm cannon I used to replace the flip out cannon to better differentiate it from Onslaught.

And finally a pic of the back and what all I cut and re-worked back together to give HardHead a turret that is able to not only swing over his shoulder but also still make the electronic cannon fire noise.

That was a dozy to accomplish. It took hours of un-soldering, wire testing, sniping, soldering, trail and error, and a lot of brunt fingers to get this to work. My one regret is I wish I would have left the machine gun firing noises to go with his arm Vulcan gun.

I will hopefully be posting a video tomorrow showing you the sound still works.

Sweet! Hardhead is going to look like the badass he is. I really want to pick up a Hardhead and do something similar. It is so awesome you are moving all the electrons too. I guess he'll sound and flash badass too.

nice job man in experimenting lol, ya i have never ventured into the electronic area of customizing yet, but i probably will eventually accidentally or on the spur of the moment thing.. lol. that is usually wat happens wen venturing into a new area ur not used to and wanna try =P

 

I hope to impress. I got the perfect military green for him that I am using on my Roadbuster but I will lighten it up a bit.

Sounds yes but I didn't incorporate the LEDs into it. And I realized half way through the transplant but to far ahead to turn back that I could have kept them.  

Ohh I found a few I just haven't decided which one he will get. 

Yes I tried using that feature but It was too big for his alt mode. So I transplanted all of the bigger turrets electronics into the smaller turrets and made a gap for the cannon to go through. Once its cleaned up a bit I will take pics on the back and Alt mode.

Definitely do a bit of browsing the forums about electronics and anything by Big Hank where he talks about anything electrical and what not. It helped a lot.


I am surprised no one has noticed I blurred out the shield for some reason.
