Yes, I realize there are about 45 ways to spell it. Didn't see a thread for it yet and as I'm partially Jewish...

    HAPPY HANNUKA!

Thanks, Happy Chanukah everyone! :D  Don't forget to light your menorah's at sunset!

Are all the Jews on the board from New York and Jersey? That's odd, maybe not. :lol

I got 2 questions before i wish youse guys (forgive me if i appear goyish):

do you really get dreidels every year? man, to get a wooden top as a kid when the neighbor's kid is getting Omega Supreme and Metroplex would seem awful.

i am assuming it's just comedy or someone being self deprecating, but why do all the jewish comedians seem to hate the holiday? (like lewis black)

    anyhoo, i was curious.

it's a sucky holiday in my family. it's like... think of all the lame stocking stuffers you get on Christmas. Those are usually the GOOD gifts on Hannuka. The thing is, gifts weren't always part of the day. That's a relatively new thing to compete (for a lack of a better word) with Christmas.

Anyway, with my dad being a non-jew, we do christmas as well and it's always a much more joyous time. I really don't know what the deal is with the jewish holidays feeling so damn dreary.

though, it is one of the only holidays I know of where you get to play with fire.
