I guess technically there are spoilers in the vid, so if you haven't seen James Cameron's "Avatar" yet, and you really really don't want to be spoiled, don't watch just yet, go to a 24 hour store and pick up your copy like me. For the rest of us, EARTH DAY METAL! kinda

Anyone who's watched Dances with Wolves or A Man Called Horse has already had Avatar's plot well and truly spoiled.

Careful where you say that. There are parts of the internet where those words are blasphemy.
Almost as much as calling the blue guys avatars :lol

I dunno that it's blasphemy. It's just that people seem to think that Cameron is Satan because he used an old story to make a sci fi movie.

I know people who think that The Magnificent Seven is the first movie to employ 7 "ronin" type characters defending a helpless village from brigands (Read the Star Wars Clone Wars Thread, and you'll see what I mean). What about Battle Beyond the Stars? Recently-released 7 Swords?

Cameron took a story concept that has been used before (and probably based on some historical real experience) and made a scifi around it. A Sci Fi that not only wields the story around another planet that look awesome in 240hz, but also kinda weaves the notion of people being online for almost everything nowadays. I know I'm not the only one that saw Jake Sully's conversion to his Avatar as being some addict refusing to let go of his WOW account, lol

Since we're sharing videos, here's one I made back when the movie came out:

Finntroll made Avatar more enjoyable than it actually was.

I did and was disappointed to find that there is absolutely nothing else included but the movie. NO EXTRAS AT ALL. I knew buying it that there would be another version, possibly 3d, coming out in November but I didn't expect them to charge full price for a bare bones copy of the film.

Wow, nothing? If any movie should have tons of behind-the-scenes features it should be Avatar. But then I suppose they can double-dip nicely by releasing a feature-heavy version later on. :/

Bought it, got home, and realized that it was a solid bare bones edition. The only thing I like though is that the Bluray comes with standard DVD too. I think I'm return it though and wait for the Fern Gully Edition in November.

I love how they are celebrating Earth Day by releasing a DVD that everyone will throw away in a few months in favor of the better version. I'm guessing the packaging doesn't tout that it's made from recycled materials either, does it?

I picked up the Blu-Ray version. For $20 I feel it was worth it, even though there wasn't any extras.
