First movie I ever saw and it changed my life forever. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ever since this flick I've had a crush on my sister.

    Overrated.

Star Wars, a happy birthday, I wish you!

My favorite characters were R3PO, Yoga, Dark Vador, Hank Solo and Jar Jar…

I'll give it this: Yoda made being a kindergarden teacher cool again.

    Until all the kids died.

Mine were Dark Helmet and Dot Matrix.

    Oh wait, wrong flick...

Star Wars, good to see it's a fine old 30 at this point. Hopefully we can forget 1998-2005 and look to the future with the TV series.

Yeah, that scene where the Millenerum Eagle gets captured by the Star Wars Empire is great, but my favorite scene is the part where those teddy bears fight Darth Vadar and the frog-looking guy does that little dance.

Not my favorite set of movies but definitely entertaining with some really good villains, Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, and who doesnt love Yoda?

I'll have a drink for SW, ESB and the non-Ewok bits of ROTJ. That will be closely followed by a visit to the lavatory for the SETs and PT.

I'm also going to see the exhibition in London next week, I better be getting a good percentage of OT stuff for my £18 entry.

I went back and watched Jedi a few weeks ago. The last ~30 minutes of that film still make me all giddy. The space battles over Endor still look fantastic.

My Mom used to warn me that if I kept fast-forwarding through the Ewok scenes that I'd mess up the tape. I'm too afraid to check my OT VHS tapes and see if that's true. The way I figure, they're just gonna stay in those boxes for time eternal at this point.

...but I still DVD-skip through them now. Fuck Ewoks! I wanna see starships exploding!

I really don't get these statements. AOTC and ROTS are actually very good movies.
With some liberal use of the fast-forward button, that is.

Awesome scenes. As much shitting on as Lucas deserves for what he does to these films, he must have some grain of sense left in him if he knows to keep the CGI monkeys away from those shots for anything other then cleaning up the compositing.

In terms of people, The Emperor totally steals the show in ROTJ in my opinion. The evil wrinkly old bastard cackling away and goading the Skywalkers into killing each other is one of the most entertaining performances in the entire series, him and the space battle totally justify the existence of the film in spite of the Ewoks.

If by liberal you meant everything from the Fox logo to the credits, i'll agree since you can't hear anyone talking and its moving too fast to notice most of the other stuff that is dirt poor.

Credit where its due thougth, ROTS is perhaps the greatest unintentional self parody of all time.

I was six when SW first hit the screens and I have to say they made a geek out of me for life. Some of my happiest childhood moments were spent watching movies in the theater with my Dad.

Happy B-day Star Wars. Reflect of how cool you were when you were young and forget how crappy you are now.

My earliest memory is seeing Star Wars at the drive-in when I was 3. Our old dodge van had blue plaid curtains, and my 3-year-old self fell asleep 3/4 of the way through, but I still remember going and seeing Vader for the first time.

Happy Birthday, Star Wars. Too bad the years made your franchise go senile...

    Jedi afterbirth FTMFW!!!

Damn Star Wars and I are almost the same exact age, I was born 5/10/77.

I do vaguely remember seeing Jedi in the theater when I was 6. Good times.
