Anyone else got one of these? I picked one up a couple of months ago after my mother saw a sales demonstration on a shopping channel and wouldn't shut up about it.
Still trying to get my head around some of it as I've had to throw out most of the usual ways of cooking stuff. Some things I just can't get right and it's quicker to do in a conventional oven. Only finally got it to cook sausages right after about ten attempts. Cooks a pizza to perfection and chicken roasts lovely.
Not sure I believe the self-cleaning claim, but it's fun to be able to see everything cooking in the glass jar.
Was hoping to find a decent forum for halogen ovens where I could pick up tips on the basics but there aren't any good ones. And the few cook books out there for this kind of oven are all full-on recipe books when I just want to know the best way to do the simple stuff before I go the full dinner.

It basically is, with a fan to make it into a convection heater.

If you paint it pink and put cookie dough in it, sure.

Is it that "Flavor-wave" infomercial thing? The one that Mr. T advertises?
(if you haven't seen the infomercial it's actually pretty funny :lol  Mr. T "It's all frozen solid!!")

    *Googles 'Flavour-Wave*

    http://www.thane.com/products/housewares/flavorwave-turbo/flavorwave-turbo.php

Yes, apparently it's the same kind of thing.

This is the one I've got:

    Multifunction Halogen Cooker - Elgento

ELGENTO HALOGEN OVEN COOKER 11 LITRE FULL WARRANTY NEW! on eBay (end time 19-Mar-10 10:09:04 GMT)

It's not pink but you can bake stuff in it. Not that I've got that far yet.
It doesn't seem to be an appliance that many people have around here, which just means it's a bugger to find accessories and books for unless I order them online. Even kitchenware stores here look at me like I'm mad when I ask about stuff for it.

If the oven gets stolen and returned, make sure there isn't a nuclear bomb wired to the "on" button.
