If I get my tax return this year, I'd be willing.
    Depending on price of course.
I'm looking to get some extra parts.

Ok... I guess that's good news... means I didn't miss it. LOL

Odd that they released Osiris fireteam first instead of the Blue fireteam. That is if I'm following their numerical product code labelling properly. DYH87 = Blue and DYH88 = Osiris. So the waiting game begins then.

I still haven't pucked up the Osiris set, are they all supposed to have my so much silver wash? Everyone I've seen does. They look like Bayverse Dinobots.
I have Heroes Vale, and could replace her but IDK. I should just gwt it because it will never be this easy to get those characters again. I hope Blue Team looks like they do in the promo shots.

Construction sets have... weird release dates. They're not like action figures where they have set waves that all come out at generally predictable times. Except for, as it so happens, the Halo Heroes and blind packs which are just the action figures.

Did a search for an actual thread, and it pointed me here - splurged on a couple of the Destiny sets recently. I don't know dingus about the game beyond what I've read on TVTropes and a couple of videos, but even without context the minifigs are definitely neat-looking. Grabbed one of the Sparrow jetbikes and an armory pack - the S31V and Samsara, I think; it kinda bugs me that MB doesn't seem to put set or character names on the instruction sheets for these guys. Went for the Warlocks because the accessories are interesting; the minifig trenchcoats work really well, and the energy ball thingers are rather striking. The minifigs themselves feel a bit more solid than my (admittedly, older series) Halo dudes, and are definitely a little less dumpy-looking than the Star Trek figures. The Fallen dude from the jetbike set is really cool for his size - all four arms work and he balances pretty well; I just wish the cape was a little more flexible and didn't impede the neck so much.

As for the actual build-y bits, most of it I like. The usual gamut of MB's weirder and more specialised parts compared to Lego in general; more of the tesselating ground bits, no stickers...all good stuff. Fallen dude's little gun drone really reminds me of XCOM Gremlins, and while the jetbike does have the issue of trying to get a minifig to straddle a 1-wide seat, it's sturdy enough and it looks good next to Halo Cyclops models. One thing I'm not so keen on, oddly, is that the plastic in general feels kinda like some of my older Halo stuff that was a bit...marginal in spots. Maybe it's just because the Sparrow sets are essentially nothing but plates and tiny parts, but I had some issues with the gun drone not holding together super-well, and some of the bike parts felt a little...flexible. Once everything's assembled it seems to be fine though.

So yeah, I kinda dig the technofantasy guys. Undecided on bigger sets (the Atheon - whatever it is in game - and jumpship do look neat), but I'll probably snag another character or two and another jetbike. Are the Racing Sparrow sets exclusive somewhere? I haven't seem them at TRU, Target, or Wallyworld.

From my understanding the "battle wear" really varies on the figures. Tanaka seems to have fared the best of the group. Never paid attention to Locke, Buck can be rather heavy, and (just to me) Vale has the right amount. It's really up to you.

I think you might be rather disappointed about Blue. Looks like they'll have the "battle wear" as well. FYI they were found in Mexico as of late March.

I'm skipping Blue Team, really just hate Linda's armor in general and the wash just ugh. So going with the upcoming Chief and 3 of the cyro pods for my Blue Team. I'm just going to say the difference in armor colors is due to Chief getting updated armor before the others.

Man, even simplified by Halo Mega Bloks, Blue team's freakish overdesign is hideous.

    Question.
Would any of you be interested in an original Pelican set for about $55 + shipping?

I'll be posting in my sales thread too.
    Send me a PM.

I started a little collection of these guys (teams of 4 red, blue, green, white, and grey) and I like the figures enough, but I was wondering what you all think is the best way to get some upgraded weapons?

Also, what weapons do you think are the coolest available?

FYI: I have never played a Halo game so I know nothing of the lore. I just like them as little space guys. :D

What do you mean upgraded exactly? If you want weapons that look the best out of all that's been released by Mega, then I'd say go with sculpts are current. I'd say the current sniper rifle is the best sculpt. If you just want a cool arsenal then maybe check out Brickarms. They do Lego/Mega Bloks compatible weapons. Last I check they had a descent selection of both modern and Sci-fi weapons..

I'm sorry all I can think about is this:

Hah, reminds me of a far side joke where the battle of little bighorn stopped long enough for a bee to resettle.

What do you mean by upgraded weapons, though? Like more powerful types like rocket and grenade launchers?

I guess I just meant more variety of choice. Rocket launchers are cool though. :)

I don't care for some of the weapons the figures I got came with so I'd like to swap some out.

I know there are some action weapons packs that have two figures in them but I'm not sure which ones.

You could always use the Megaconstrux Halo site to see what figures or weapons are currently out, since it's a fantastically designed website that lets you easily find whatever you're looking for. You can even sort sets by year.
