Got dressed up a bit tonight and decked out the front yard like a little haunted house for the local trick or treat, had a good time! My most favorite time of the year
I'll be finishing a small project for one of my classes, going to TRU to check out their 2 deluxes for 20 bucks deal that expires right away (this is in Canada, so don't stone me if you live in the US & waste a trip there), and then spending the evening hanging out free candy to strangers, many of which who probably won't even be wearing costumes. ... I might not have much a costume either, but damn I'm white.
I've noticed a pattern. From my posting and other members. The number of trick or treaters has decreased since a few years back. Must be some sort of logical answer. Perhaps a statement on the current generation. Last year I only had one group of people come to the door.
Haha, I only had about 4 kids last year (2 of which weren't even dressed up), and while it's not surprising (as I basically live in a retirement community), I think it's happening on a much wider scale as well. Like, while we're not all paranoid about finding razor blades in our food, there's still the danger of people freezing candy over & over again, and the fact that we've moved into a much more socially connected generation means that things like Halloween just aren't what they used to be. Along with that, parents are getting more protective, kids are getting stupider, and it's not like schools & malls aren't a better alternative anyways to walking up to stranger's houses in the dark. Taking all of these things into account, as well as the anti obesity campaigns & the increased awareness of other cultures, I'm often finding myself questioning how long the tradition will even remain a norm at all, at least when it comes to door to door services
Nice man, I'll probably do that next year. Anyways, this Halloween I'm going to do a massive horror movie marathon, watching all the classic horror movies I can get my hands on. I'll finish out the night by watching the original Halloween, not the crappy remake, and then I'll try to sleep. It's going to be awesome!
A couple hours ago, I tagged along with my brother to get some off-sale. Before we get to the bar, we notice all kinds of people in costumes walking down the sidewalk. We get closer to the bar and suddenly I spot two KISS "members". I rolled down the window, threw them the horns and shouted "ROCK ON!". They acknowledge and when my brother stops and gets into the bar, they approach the car while I'm still in it. I rolled down the window a bit and they were asking if we could give them a ride. I bullshit with them for a bit and my brother comes back, clueless, and decides to have them enter the car. Total strangers but cool nonetheless. We get a ways up the street and suddenly a hot chick spots us and begs to get in. Then ANOTHER KISS "member" asks to get in. Four people now, cramped into the back of a small sports car. The girl gets angry with her boyfriend, we get to their house, and drop the lovely couple off. Finally we dropped the other two band members off. WOW, that was definitely one of the most odd-yet-awesome moments of my life.
Wearing my grad suit, with my bowler hat and chimp mask. Then when I answer the door, I will acted like a monkey. I was originally going to dress up like DOTM Wheeljack, but I've been told from family that it might scare kids when I answer the door.
First halloween where i'm not out trick or treating. I've got nothing to do.....hell TV isn't that great this year for Halloween. I haven't seen any Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street all i keep seeing is just Halloween.
Friday and Saturday were the H'ween parties, today rest, Monday go to the Bell Witch Cave and home in Adams, TN and see what the old girl is up to...bwhahahahahahahahaha!!! The Official Home of the Bell Witch | An American Haunting
Gonna be handing out candy. I think i'm the only house on my street who has Halloween decor set up and is handing out candy. I hate living in the bible belt!!! I walked into Walmart yesterday to buy candy and they had religious fanatics outside talking about religion and how Halloween is bad. I miss the north east where I grew up. SOOO many people celebrate it and so many REAL haunted places to go and visit. My old town used to be decked out in decor for Halloween. Every house and even all over the town. Kinda reminds me of "Halloween town" lol.
Dressing up and going to the school carnival with my *little sister. *Elementary school kid assigned to me that I accompany on school activities. Not actual sibling.
